News broke early this morning (Jan 4th) that four of NJPW’s major players had reportedly signed WWE contracts. AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson bringing the biggest wow factor since the signing of Kevin Steen. The reports are yet to be confirmed by WWE but the wrestling world is already buzzing with excitement. The potential and possibilities available with the group’s arrival is massive mark out fodder, I mean holy f**king s**t a mother f**king Bullet Club reunion with Fin Balor!!!!

Wow see what I mean?

Now please allow me to compose myself.

Ever since AJ’s departure from TNA and rise in NJPW, you know to wash that Jarrett/Carter stink off, it was only a matter of time before the WWE came knocking, Styles is just to good to be ignored, for once the WWE seem to be thinking logically. The instant star power he will provide to NXT’s somewhat depleted roster and in-ring ability he will bring just shows NXT’s intentions of bringing wrestler’s biggest and brightest stars to a company and providing a legitimate platform and a chance to shine. And shine AJ will given half a chance with main event status and title reigns guaranteed. As NJPW’s main gaijin heel I doubt that Styles would’ve made the jump to NXT without certain promises and protection. Gallows and Anderson’s inclusion strongly leans to a Bullet Club invasion or something along those lines (please, please, please). The potential team up or rivalry with Fin Balor is the booking of dreams, a feud with Sami Zayn would also delight and anyone remember what Styles and Joe can do the ring? The future looks phenomenal.

Nakamura is an intriguing purchase, as one of NJPW prime stars I must say I’m extremely surprised to see him leave Japan, which hints at big money and big promises. Plus the popularity and proper booking of Itami and Asuka as legitimate s**t kickers and wrestlers has shown the grappling world that NXT has the correct attitude toward Japanese wrestlers despite WWE’s history telling us otherwise. Nakumara is a highly decorated, multi-time world title holder with one of the most striking looks/gimmick, fighting style and attitude you’ll ever see, often charging around the ring like an excited child with ADD all masking a super stiff offence that will take your breath away. However Nakamura (spoiler alert) is still the IWGP Intercontinental Champion and all four still have many other wrestling commitments to uphold therefore it could be a while before we see them on the WWE Network, so until I shall be creating them all on WWE 2K16 and booking my one dream scenarios.

Whatever the future holds NXT has already made a fantastic start to 2016.

On your marks.

Get set.

Mark out.
