There are certain moments in the WWE Calender to let fans know when “The Road to Wrestlemania” has begun. Many years ago those moments would officially begin at the ‘Royal Rumble’, then it would be ‘Elimination Chamber’, this year however, despite ‘Fastlane’ already deciding who the WWE Heavyweight Champion will face at ‘Wrestlemania’, RAW on the 29th February offered fans another option.

The altercation between WWE Heavyweight Champion, Triple H and Dean Ambrose on RAW then consequently the announcement of their Championship match had sent social media into a frenzy as fans of “The Lunatic Fringe” finally got what they have been wanting for months, Ambrose’s chance at the WWE Championship.

WWE has immediately capitalised on the amount of interest this match has gained by announcing on March 1st that, March 12th, there will be a WWE Network live special, dubbed ‘WWE Roadblock’ held in Toronto, Canada.

But the result of this match could have massive ramifications for the matches already announced at ‘Wrestlemania’. If Dean Ambrose wins WWE Championship then he will face Roman Reigns in a long awaited match between the former Shield brothers, but his night at ‘Wrestlemania’ won’t end there as he will battle Brock Lesnar either later or at the beginning of that night. And the trials doesn’t end there, if Triple H loses the Championship as stated earlier, he would have a re-match clause and what a better time to call it in than on “The Grandest Stage of Them All”.

Perhaps there will be no Title Change, maybe Brock Lesnar will cost Ambrose the Title at ‘WWE Roadblock’, escalating their feud more and that leaves the WWE Champion, whoever that may be a potential opponent after ‘Wrestlemania’ in Ambrose.

Also advertised to be at the event is WWE stars, Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt, New Day, Sheamus, King Barrett. However, it’s not just the WWE stars that will be part of the event as there are several NXT stars to be part of the show as well, including Sami Zayn, Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady and NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival.

By having NXT and RAW stars combining to be part of one show, it helps WWE gauge the popularity of the NXT stars on a global scale as well as being able to see avoid the “who to call up to the main roster dilemma” just yet.

But regardless of the possible ramifications, ‘WWE Roadblock’ airs live on the WWE Network Saturday, March 12th at 8pm EST and promises to be a must see event.
