First Hornswoggle, El Torito and Wade Barrett were released and we thought that it couldn’t possibly get any worse? It has been reported that WWE have released Christian from his performance contract.

The man famously known for teaming up with fellow injury ridden superstar, Edge, will no longer be able to perform in ring for the WWE. Christian hasn’t wrestled for the company since he last suffered a concussion in 2014. It is believed that this is the reason he has been relieved of any in ring duties.

Anybody worrying that they will no longer get to see Captain Charisma on WWE television fear not as the company are yet to flip the killswitch on him entirely. Cage will still be appearing on the Network performing weekly hijinks with the Rated R superstar, Edge – The R obviously standing for ‘Retired’.

Christian joins a growing list of superstars to have been released from their WWE contracts in the past month. With question marks still over the futures of Goldberg impersonator, Ryback, and alleged drugs baron, Adam Rose, could the sudden release of such long standing personnel mean the end for these NXT graduates?
