“Lots of folks say “ride or die” these days…well @realedenwwe is just that in the next 24 hours, most people will realise what i’m saying” – @PrinceCGR May 24th.

This was the tweet that sent wrestling fan forums and dirt sheets into a spin this morning as Cody Rhodes once again used Twitter to hint at another possible departure from WWE, this time the person in question being his wife, Brandi Rhodes aka. Eden.

On March 2011,she signed a developmental contract with WWE and was later assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). Eden would make her main roster debut as a ring announcer under the ring name “Eden Stiles”, on NXT during July 2011 and in December of that year she was released from her WWE contract at her own request.

November 2013, Eden announced on social media that she would be returning to WWE and since then, has retained the ring name Eden Stiles and continued her role as a ring announcer, appearing on NXT. During October 2014, Eden became the regular ring announcer and backstage interviewer for SmackDown and Main Event shows. In late-March 2015, Eden made her pay-per-view ring announcing debut at WrestleMania 31 as well as becoming the backup ring announcer for Raw while Lilian Garcia was recovering from surgery.

On May 25th the news broke that over Twitter from @RealEdenWWE :

“(1/2) What I’ve been teasing for weeks:I’ve been offered a new opportunity outside WWE!! So I’ve decided to part w/WWE after tonight.

(2/2) BeingBrandiRunnels.com will continue! Check it out soon for updates on my new career life! Doing things my way! RhodesStrong.

This will be another blow to WWE in a wave for recent releases and members of the wrestling roster opting to be released, this may cause alarm bells to ring within the promotion. For whatever the new opportunity that Stiles has spoken of in her recent tweets remains a mystery but has already caused speculation, bare in mind that Stiles has already launched her own line of swimwear called “Confection Swimwear” and appeared in various TV commercials so there multiple avenues outside wrestling, however, whatever the opportunity may be, it is still WWE’s loss.

“WWE has granted Eden (wife of Cody Rhodes) her request to be released, as of today, May 24, 2016. WWE wishes Eden the best in all her future endeavors.” – WWE.com
