This week sees the UK graced with the presence of an individual whom some have called “the most controversial man in wrestling”, as former WCW supremo and Raw GM Eric Bischoff begins a three date Q&A tour promoted by What Culture Professional Wrestling. On Wednesday 24th the tour kicks off in Newcastle at the O2 Academy, then takes in the Manchester Ruby Lounge on Friday 26th and finally the London Walkabout Temple on Saturday 27th.
WCPW aren’t just in Newcastle on 24th to show off Eric Bischoff, as they present a live show on that date, also at the O2 Academy and then stay on to repeat the feat on Thursday 25th as well. Matches announced for the Wednesday show include “The Villain” Marty Scurll taking on “The Aerial Assassin” Will Opsreay in a rematch of their Evolve scorcher earlier in the year, “Iron Man” Joe Coffey facing ROH Star Moose, Grado meeting “The Primate” Jason Prime and “The Mexican Sensation” El Ligero going up against TNA superstar Ethan Carter III. Also appearing will be Nixon Newell, Martin Kirby, Johnny Moss, Big Damo, Doug Williams, Drew Galloway, Rampage Brown, Joe Hendry and Joseph Connors. Eric Bishoff is slated to appear in the role of GM and an Invitational Rumble Match has been announced for the Thursday 25th show featuring many of the biggest names already booked for the first evening.
Marty Scurll, Will Ospreay and Moose are again the star attractions as RPW:UK arrive at the Portsmouth Guild Hall on Friday 26th August with the intention of starting off the weekend with a bang for the fans in attendance.
On Saturday 27th, HXC promotions presents “An Evening with Raven” at the Manchester Ruby Lounge, granting those in attendance the chance to interact with and hear the insider stories of the former ECW, WCW, WWE and TNA superstar in his own inimitable fashion.
And finally, on Sunday 28th, PROGRESS Chapter 35: Writing Nirvana on Other People’s Bags, takes place at the Camden Electric Ballroom. In matches announced at the time of writing, the tournament to crown the inaugural Atlas Champion draws ever closer to conclusion, as Joe Coffey faces “The Bastard” Dave Mastiff in the Group A semi-final and in Group B, Rampage Brown takes on T-Bone. Also confirmed for the show is an encounter between Will Ospreay and the sensational US indie flyer Shane Strickland (a.k.a. Killshot of Lucha Underground fame), with Ospreay going into the show looking to break a now five match losing streak in PROGRESS.
