Jumping straight in on Saturday 22nd, we begin with South Coast Wrestling emanating from the New Maldon Memorial Centre and a card which features Kelly Sixx taking on “The All Day Smile” Ryan Smile and “Mr Moonsault” Jake McKlusky defending the One to Watch Trophy against former champion Ryan Hendricks. Also advertised as appearing are Jamie Hayter, Josh Bodom and James Castle. In addition, South Coast underline their appeal as a family-friendly company by offering two free entrances for a child with every adult ticket purchased.
Also on the 22nd, IPW:UK showcase the best up and coming talent on their already impressive roster with the 2016 Super 8 Tournament at the Croydon Selsden Hall. Confirmed to compete in the titular tournament this year are Scott Star, Cieran Donnelly, Danny Duggan and defending Future 8 Champion “Smooth” Sammy Smooth.
4FW take over the Swindon M.E.C.A. on 22nd for the first night of their annual Kingdom Rising supershow. “The Anarchist” Doug Williams competes against Saul Adams, Antonio De Luca and The Saint to determine the number one contender for the 4FW Heavyweight Championship. And in the main event, J D Knight faces the fight of his life against the former WWE and TNA legend, “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn.
The second night of Kingdom Rising 2016 takes place the following evening at the Emerson Green Village Hall, where Billy Gunn faces Tiger Ali. Also competing on the night will be the legendary Japanese Luchador Ultimo Dragon, who tags with Samie Sahin and Mega Pegasus in a six-man tag match against The Magnums (Dick Riley and Chris Walker) and Dragon’s countryman Dick Togo, who returns to the UK after many years’ absence.
IPW:UK also pop up again on Sunday 23rd with their Women’s Showcase event at the White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley, where they aim to present the best to be had in modern UK women’s wrestling. The show will take the form of a tournament, and scheduled to appear are Pollyanna, Xia Brookside, Katey Harvey, Erin Angel and former WWE Diva Melina, who will serve as special guest referee in an IPW:UK Women’s Championship match between current titleholder Tennessee Honey and a yet to be named challenger.
