The Wrestling Forecast 14th to 20th November 2016

By Mat Lindsay

The name that dominates the Wrestling Forecast this week is without doubt that of former ECW, WCW, WWF and TNA superstar, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, who embarks on an epic series of Q&Q evenings. These begin with the MK11 Live Music Venue and Sports Bar in Milton Keynes on Monday 14th, and then continue with Vanity Nightclub in Tamworth on 15th, Queens Social Club in Sheffield on 16th and finally the Manchester Ruby Lounge on 18th.

Not content with these dates, Douglas will also actually be in action on 19th for Target Wrestling at The Venue in Carlisle, where he teams with Mickey Whiplash to take on Polo Promotions (Jackie Polo and “Power Forward” Mark Coffey). Also on the same card, veteran UK legend Johnny Moss takes on “Iron Man” Joe Coffey and Jessika Havok meets Karnage.

Also, getting in on the “evening with” action this week is WWF Legend The Honky Tonk Man, who will be entertaining fans with tales of his storied career at the Symphony Rooms in Leicester on 16th thanks to the good people at Triple M Promotions.

PCW and CZW team up to present War Zone over two nights, with the first show taking place at the Fusion nightclub in Liverpool on 18th, and a card featuring Dean Allmark taking on Bubblegum, Dave Mastiff meeting Chris Dickinson, T-Bone against Dave Crist, Chris Ridgeway taking on AR Fox and Joey Hayes squaring off against none other than The Honky Tonk Man himself! On the 19th, the action continues at the Manchester MMU, with an as yet unconfirmed card, but which will surely feature a similar collection of stellar matches and some surprises along the way.

The Glasgow SSE Hydro opens its doors on 20th for what many are calling one of the biggest events in modern Britwres history, as ICW look to top all their previous achievements with Fear & Loathing IX. A massive card has already been announced, featuring former NXT and WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor named as guest enforcer for the show (replacing the previously announced Mick Foley, who will appear via satellite link). Trent Seven challenges current champion Wolfgang for the ICW World Heavyweight title in a steel cage, Lionheart defends the Zero-G title in the first ever Stairway to Heaven Match against five contenders, Carmel Jacobs faces the challenge of Kay Lee Ray for the ICW Women’s Championship, Joe Coffey meets the legendary Kurt Angle and Polo Promotions face the fight of their lives as Team 3D are given a shot at their ICW Tag Team Championships. As if all of that were not enough, Lewis Girvan takes on Ricochet in singles competition, BT Gunn faces Stevie Boy in a Casket Match, former tag team partners Joe Hendry and Davey Boy meet to settle their differences, and Team Dallas (Chris Renfrew, Sha Samuels, Grado and DCT) clash with The Black Label (Drew Galloway, Jack Jester, Kid Fite and Bram) with the winners gaining total control of ICW.
