Coming off the back of their Reloaded show a mere five days before, FutureShock are back at it again on Friday 24th, taking over the Prestwich Suite in Manchester for FututreShock Underground #21. The only match announced at the time of writing was the second meeting of Welsh firebrand April Davids and current FututreShock Women’s Champion Lana Austin with the title on the line. The talent announced for the rest of the show includes James Drake, Rampage Brown, Cyanide, Sexy Kev, “Delicious” Danny Hope, Soner Durson and, of course, FutureShock Heavyweight Champion “Liverpool’s No.1” Zack Gibson.
Portsmouth’s, apparently, historic Guildhall is literally bursting with matches worth the price of the admission as RPW:UK set up shop on 24th. While there are comedic offerings on the card, such as The Legion of Lords taking on former WWE superstar Swoggle (FKA “Hornswoggle”) and RPW:UK Tag Team Champions Joel Redman and Charlie Sterling meeting two members of the Spirit Squad, those looking for more serious wrestling fare are well catered for as well, with “All Day Smile” Ryan Smile colliding with “The Villain” Marty Scurll, Trent Seven taking on “The Bastard” Dave Mastiff and the potential classic of “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne against Penta El Zero M (formerly Pentagon Jnr of AAA and Lucha Underground fame).
If there was ever a Britwres company that came close to tempting you to attend based solely on the plain and simple craziness of the names that they choose for their shows, then it would doubtless be ATTACK! Pro Wrestling, who are back at the Trinity Centre in Bristol on Saturday 25th for “Gorilla Pressed and Deep in Conversation” – and with a name like that, wouldn’t it just be worth the price of admission to be able to say that you’d been there?
For those wanting a change of pace on 25th, Malone Rugby Club in Belfast will be hosting “From the Dungeon to the Dojo”, an evening of conversation and Q&A with Davey Boy Smith Jnr, who will no doubt have much to say about the storied career of both his father and the Hart family side of his lineage, as well as his own diverse career in professional wrestling.
PROGRESS are last on the forecast this week, back at their familiar home of the Electric Ballroom in Camden for Chapter 44: Old Man Shouts at Cloud, proving that some people on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean both have a sense of humour and haven’t given in to the urge to grow up anytime soon!
