New Japan Pro Wrestling has posted a series of tweets announcing the card for their upcoming 45th Anniversary show in Tokyo, Japan. Although the card is full of excellent matches with many titles on the line, perhaps the most exciting element to this show is the New Japan Pro Wrestling debut of Zack Sabre Jr.
Sabre is largely recognized as one of the most talented and accomplished wrestlers in the world, appearing most recently for WWE in their Cruiserweight Classic tournament and is also the current Pro Wrestling Gorilla champion. Sabre has an incredible technical background and is no stranger to Japan, having worked for Pro Wrestling NOAH for the better half of a decade and captured the Jr Heavyweight Tag Team titles twice during his time there.
His opponent is Revolution Pro Wrestling British Heavyweight Champion and New Japan standout Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata has been the RPW British Heavyweight Champion since November of 2016 when he beat Sabre Jr for the title. The upcoming New Japan match with be the pair’s third match together.
The 45th Anniversary show will take place on March 6th and will be streamed live on New Japan World, beginning at 5AM Eastern standard time.
