Diamond Dallas Page will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Eric Bischoff. The former Raw General Manager and WCW headmaster confirmed he was honored to do this for his friend. “This is the Holy Grail for him”, he explained on WWE.com announcement.
The two met by the end of 1980’s, working for American Wrestling association, Bischoff as an announcer and Page as a manager. After a short stint in FCW and WWF as an announcer and commentator, they rejoined in 1991 in WCW where they spent more than 10 years.
Bischoff would there become the boss of the company and the founder of the most controversial faction of wrestling history, the nWo. When Diamond Dallas Page would fight his way through stardom. Becoming a 3-time World Heavyweight Champion, 2-time United States Champion, one-time TV Champion and a 4-time Tag Team Champion.
The “Self High-Five” Master has always developped a deep connection with the fans, being as real in ring as he has been in real life. A point Eric Bischoff confirms. His rock’n roll entrance and Diamond sign remains absolutely legendary.
Since his retirement in 2010, Diamond Dallas Page has created a yoga and fitness method to heal his back issues. The DDP Yoga method is now coveted by many athletes and wrestlers to help them recover from years of injuries. Page saved the lives of wrestlers Jake Roberts and Scott Hall with his method.
WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 also includes Kurt Angle, Theodore Long, The Rock’n Roll Express, Beth Phoenix, “Ravishing” Rick Rude and former football player Eric Le Grand as recipient of the Warrior Award.
WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, March 31, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, during Wrestlemania 33 week-end. It will be broadcasted live on WWE Network.
