Aron Rex, known as Damien Sandow during his tenure in WWE, was this weekend at Orlando for WrestleCon. In an interview with Title Match Wrestling, available below, he announced he was no longer working for Impact Wrestling and even hinted at his possible retirement.

Answering Rich Palladino’s questions, he stated he appreciated to be remembered even if he left WWE a year ago now and spent many time on independent circuit in USA and overseas, before coming to Impact Wrestling.

“I don’t know if this is going to be it for me, because you know I’m no longer with Impact,” Rex said. “Ending on this note is not a bad thing. I’m not saying that I’m never going to get in the ring again, but this is pretty cool and I’d much rather have people remember me for all the good stuff.” He also noted he was happy and had an awesome career.

Rex was part of the WWE roster from 2010 to 2016. He developed his character, “The Savior of the Masses” and soon became the King of Impersonations. His Miz’s stunt double gimmick as Damien Mizdow was largely appreciated by the fans.

In August 2016, Aron Rex made a statement on TNA Wrestling by confronting the then- TNA World Heavyweight, X Division and King of the Mountain Champion Lashley. And quickly became TNA’s first Impact Grand Champion.

He was still apart of TNA TV tapings last January, debuting a new Liberace-inspired character, accompanied to the ring by new manager Rockstar Spud. But he didn’t have the time to develop his new gimmick of “Rexcellence” as he never appeared on Impact soon after those tapings.
