It seems like The Vaudevillains are no more. WWE announced today, in a classic release statement, that Simon Gotch was no longer a member of the company.

Gotch spent nearly 10 years on independent circuit before signing with NXT in 2013. After a year on his own, he formed in 2014 a tag team with Aiden English. The Vaudevillains used the gimmick of old-time vaudeville cabaret artists from early 1900’s.

The team had many chances to the NXT Tag Team Championship, always unsuccessfully. Until NXT Takeover: Brooklyn in August 2015 where they defeated Blake and Murphy. They would lose the titles 61 days later to The Revival of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson.

They made their debut in the main roster at Smackdown after Wrestlemania last year. They were again involved in the tag team titles turmoil, without suceeding anyway. They stayed on Smackdown after last July draft, multiplying chances but not success.

Gotch’s involvement in a backstage fight with Sin Cara last July earned him some backstage heat from WWE officials. The Vaudevillains has never won any single match ever since that accident.
