Welcome to the most must-see Vulture Hound weekly review in history; welcome to… The SmackDown Review, brought to you this week by Steph.

We talked widely over the last few weeks of Wrestlemania Monday but even on Tuesday some things can still happen. The Land of Opportunities also brought his share of arrivals, comebacks and surprises. And it didn’t disappoint…

Two of the three blue titles changed hands at Wrestlemania. Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship and Naomi won the Six-Women Challenge for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Pushed to the preshow, the confrontation between Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin, a rematch is already announced for tonight.

The show starts with WWE Champion Randy Orton making his way to the ring under and a mix of cheers and boos. He tries to get the haters to his side but without real success. He remembers us that he said if you can’t beat them join them and when the time is right, screw up. But he forgot the end of the sentence, if you fight them at Wrestlemania, be sure to beat them. Wyatt thought he had Orton on power. Something Orton proved wrong as Orton is Wyatt’s master now and he’s not going to forget his name. The lights go out and Bray Wyatt appears on screen. He claimed Orton is the master of nothing. The war is just beginning and Wyatt is going to reclaim his title, like SHE said to him. He has a rematch coming but he has a very special plan for him at first. Wyatt wants a different kind of match, the kind that will push body and mind to new level of insanity. He wants to change Orton’s vision of the whole world. Watch him cry, hear him scream, watch his soul devouring itself. One of them will be sentenced to eternal damnation at the end of the House of Horrors match. Orton accepts the challenge and asks Wyatt to come to the ring.

Wyatt is already in the ring, as the lights come back, quickly mastered by Orton. But a masked man appears at ringside and pulls Orton out of the ring. Erick Rowan is back and sends Orton into the barrier. Luke Harper comes to save Orton and pulls both Wyatt and Harper out of the ring.

HERE IS SOME OTHER SHIT (AND GOOD THINGS) THAT HAPPENED:

– Miz and Maryse claimed backstage they forced Cena to propose to Nikki and they call them out tonight. Because the “Superstar Shakeup” is coming and tonight will be the last time we  see Cena and Nikki on SmackDown for a long time.

– Alexa Bliss wanted to use her rematch clause as soon as tonight. Bad blow from Miss Bliss as Naomi proved she earned to wear that belt and let her feel the glow. Her knee is still a little low, but not her mat skills.

– Curt Hawkins came to say he’s tired of not being talked about and issued his personal Open Challenge. He wanted to count to 10 but here came Tye Dillinger under a big pop. The perfect Ten quickly shut him off and defeated him for his first match on Smackdown Live.

– Backstage, Mojo Rawley is standing next to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy. A match he won thanks to his friend and football player Rob Gronkowski. He told Dasha Fuentes this win was just a beginning. Dasha didn’t seem to feel his hype…

– The Miz and Maryse came to the ring, dressed as Cena and Nikki Bella. They’re awesome at this game, really. They’re mocking Cena’s proposal to Nikki, as Maryse sports a ring as big as a door handle. Miz/Cena announces he and Maryse/Nikki has been leaving for Hollywood for a very, very long time.

But here comes the violonist Lee England Jr., the crowd understand Shinsuke Nakamura is coming (video below). The pop is so tremendous that Miz and Maryse disappeared. Nakamura has no word to say, his presence tells us everything. (The length of the pop lets think he might have been cut by Dolph Ziggler and fight him, but their match had to be pushed back to dark main event as time was fleeing).

– Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin had their Wrestlemania rematch, but not for the Intercontinental title, this time in a Street Fight Match. Chairs, tables, barriers, announcers table and leather strap were involved. Corbin prevailed this time as the ring looked like a mess. A longer and more interesting match than their Wrestlemania kick-off stint.

– Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon talked about about the “Superstar Shakeup”. As the Blue show became the Land of opportunities, he said every Raw Superstar should be praying to end up there. AJ Styles interrupted him to tell Shane he didn’t want to go anywhere as he built the Smackdown house. He announced he owed something to Shane, a respectful handshake. AJ acted like he was about to fight him before leaving the ring. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shane had his revenge next week by sending Styles to Red Land…

Randy Orton and Luke Harper teamed up against Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan in the main event. Harper and Rowan were the sensations of a classic but quite tough match. As Orton was about to place his RKO on Wyatt, lights went off. As they came back, Wyatt was now on the ramp as Rowan stared at Orton. Harper superkicked Rowan before Orton nailed the RKO for the win. The “good guys” were posing as Wyatt was laughing from the ramp. His House of Horrors would surely be full of surprises…

TO SUM UP

Very good Wrestlemania Tuesday with really tough matches. The two surprise arrivals were enough to raise the show very, very high… Smackdown is and remains the A show.  But next week’s shake-up may change a lot of things…

Thumbs up to Deam Ambrose, Baron Corbin and Luke Harper

Thumbs down to Alexa Bliss
