Impact Wrestling was recording its future weekly shows from last Thursday to Sunday in Orlando. And they were full of arrivals and comebacks.
As announced on Thursday night’s episode review, four-time X Division Champion Low Ki returned to Impact Wrestling and won the X-Division Championship in his comeback match. He defeated X-Division Champion Trevor Lee, Sonjay Dutt, Andrew Everett, Suicide and Dezmond Xavier.
Former TNA star and current Global Force Wrestling member Sonjay Dutt appeared to announce the merger of Impact Wrestling and GFW alongside Karen Jarrett. He’s now officially working as a producer for Impact in Jeff Jarrett’s new Creative team.
Matt Sydal, known in WWE as former Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne, made his Impact Wrestling return after a brief stint nearly twelve years ago. Impact officials teased on Thursday the return of a ‘major name” soon. Sydal name was coming and going on the Internet, despite an appearance at a Ring of Honor television show earlier this month.
Swoggle, better known as Hornswoggle in WWE, was present running around his former partner Rockstar Spud and bothering the commentary team. He hadn’t been seen in the Impact Zone since last January when he teamed up with Robbie E in a match against Aron Rex and Spud.
After 5 years away from the company, Scott Steiner made an impact when he came back to the ring to support former Impact commentator Josh Matthews. The war of the commentary team between Jeremy Borash and Matthews is not over and will apparently come to an end at Slammiversary in a Tag Team match.
