Impact Wrestling announced earlier this week and today that wrestlers from Mexico promotion AAA and Japanese federation Pro Wrestling NOAH would be apart of the Fatal-Four-Way Tag Team Match for the Impact and GFW Tag Team Championships at Slammiversary XV this Sunday in Orlando, Florida.
Champions Ortiz and Santana of LAX stable will put their titles on the line against Impact Wrestling team of Laredo Kid and Garza Jr., AAA El Hijo del Fantasma and Drago and NOAH Naomichi Marufuji and Taiji Ishimuri.
Drago, who has been a professionnal wrestler since 1998, has always been a AAA Superstar and is regarded as one of the most colorful, charismatic and creative wrestlers ever. El Hijo del Fantasma has been wrestling in Mexico federations since 2000, following his father’s steps. The two are also appearing in Lucha Underground.
Naomichi Marufuji has competed in NJPW, AJPW and ROH in his 20-years career. But NOAH is the federation where he started and he’s still apart of. Since his debut in 2002, Taiji Ishimori has been considered one of the best high-flying wrestlers in the world as he wrestled in Japan but also in Mexico.
These announcements are the results of the alliances sealed by Impact earlier this year with NOAH and AAA. Talent exchanges and “other opportunities to collaborate with each other in their respective markets”, like common tours, were apart of the agreements.
