Yes, this is the Kevin Owens Documentary, an inside look into the career of the man who worked his way, from the indies to the mainstream of the WWE and became WWE NXT Champion, Intercontental, United States and Universal Champion in the process. Yes this is the Kevin Owens Documentary but like the man himself, it isn’t your paint by numbers WWE release.

This documentary, right from the onset is not your tailored sit down interview as during the Blu-ray there are unexpected cameos ranging from Kevin Owen’s Daughter interrupting the interview to Hulk Hogan and The Rock endorsing Owens at several points in his career. The surprising moments don’t just end there, as the fourth wall isn’t just broken but ripped apart as behind the scenes moments are shared as tales are told of Owens and Sami Zayn growing up within the business and striving to make their way towards the WWE.
From here, Owens tells of his time in training, to IWS, to his triumphs & frustrations in Ring of Honor, the fun in PWG and then his success as he returned to Ring of Honor. Listening to him tell his story and the, simply put, honest way it is told not just by himself but William Regal, Triple H, Seth Rollins and his friends is fascinating to point where you don’t even realise that if you disliked him or wasn’t interested in him as a wrestler, that your focus has just shifted and you now emotionally invested in this story.
It’s hard not to become involved as yiu watch this, as you listen to tales about him from his family you see just how much he has sacrificed and how much wrestling means to him, not just growing up but even now. I could tell you much more about the Documentary, but just watch it, it says much more about the man than I ever could and rightly so.

The Blu-Ray, includes a whopping 13 extras including “deleted scenes” from the documentary, and even his excellent WWE Network interviews with Corey Graves on Superstar Ink. and Reneè Young on Unfiltered. Also features a collection of 17 of Kevin Owen’s best matches and moments to date, beginning with his NXT debut in 2014 through to WrestleMania 33 this year. This is a recommended Blu-Ray, if you’re a fan or maybe not, but regardless you should see this and as any sign of a good wrestling documentary, you will learn more about Kevin Owens and more about the wrestling business as a whole.
