GFW/Impact Wrestling announced that the original GFW Amped TV series, that was taped in 2015 but never went on air, will be broadcasted as a series of 4 upcoming One-Night-Only pay-per-views, starting on August 11. After the announcement of Impact and GFW titles merger, this announcement is the direct consequence of the recent acquisition by Anthem, Impact parent company, of the rights of GFW. Embedding definitely the merger of GFW and Impact Wrestling.

On April 2014, Jeff Jarrett, now a minority investor of TNA Wrestling, debuted his own wrestling brand, Global Force Wrestling and started to establish partnerships in order to create a weekly on-air content. A few months later, GFW announced working agreements with wrestlers and promotions from all over the world, like NJPW ot Lucha Libre AAA.

A roster was built around May 2015, with talents such as NJPW Bullet Club members Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows or the Killer Elite Squad of Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer. Four championships  (Global, NEX*GEN, Tag Team and Women’s Champion) were announced to be crowned during July 24, 2015 tapings of “Amped”, the name given to the weekly TV show.

After house shows in June 2015, Amped episodes were shot from July to October 2015 at the Orleans Arena of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sixteen hours of shows were filmed but GFW was still in quest of a global broadcaster. MMA fighter Chael Sonnen and ring announcer Cyrus Fees were calling the action. If an international TV distribution deal with Boulder Creek TV in the UK and TVNZ Duke in New Zealand on early 2016, Amped episodes never went on air.

Many current WWE and NXT Superstars were apart of GFW roster, like Mickie James, Bobby Roode, Eric Young, TJ Perkins, The Singh Brothers, Curt Hawkins, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Lucha Underground PJ Black, NJPW Sanada and Kushida werealso apart of it. But current Impact wrestlers like Sonjay Dutt, Andrew Everett, Magnus, Kong Kong and Chris Adonis were also GFW wrestlers.
