Grand Pro Wrestling continue the equally grand and ancient Britwres tradition of naming shows with plays on the titles of popular films, books and TV series with The Great British Beatdown, at the Rose Club in Wigan on 28th. In addition to groaning at the punning title, those in attendance will get to marvel at matches featuring the genuine and considerable talents of Martin Kirby, Tyson T-Bone, Joey Hayes, Ashton Smith, Cyanide, Bubblegum, WWE UK talent Sam Gradwell and the only opera singing star of professional wrestling, Matthew Brooks.
Exposure Wrestling take us to the Newport Pill Millennium Centre, also on 28th, for a show which will feature former TNA superstars Davey Richards and Angelina Love, and where the latter of the pair will meet native talent Kat Von Paige.
Moving on to the 29th, Target Wrestling are at The Venue in Carlisle, with a card of matches scheduled to include Martin Kirby, Joseph Connors, Polo Promotions and the special attraction of PWG and Lucha Underground standout, Jeff Cobb.
The Harwich Kingsway Hall hosts the unusually named Sci-Fi Fight Series, also on 29th, where talent scheduled to appear includes Kip Sabian, Roy Johnson, “Lord” Gideon Grey, Rishi Ghosh, Candyfloss and the London Riots. In addition, “Pastor” William Eaver will defend the company’s Heavyweight Championship in an open invitational bout.
In what is without doubt the biggest event of the week, ICW occupy the Glasgow O2 ABC for two consecutive nights from the 29th to 30th, for Shug’s Hoose Party 4. Talent already announced for the two shows includes Jack Jester, BT Gunn, Wolfgang, Polo Promotions, Grado, Lionheart, Joe Hendry, Mikey Whiplash, Sha Samuels, former ECW and WWE star Super Crazy, ICW Zero-G Champion “Liverpool’s No.1” Zack Gibson and ICW Heavyweight Champion Joe Coffey. In addition, in a specially sanctioned title match, “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne will defend the WWE UK Championship against none other than former ICW favourite and current star of WWE 205 Live, Noam Dar.
