Yesterday night on RAW, John Cena was planned to wrestle Samoa Joe. But as you’ll find out in Elliot Dyson‘s upcoming RAW review, the match didn’t happen. PWinsider revealed Samoa Joe was in fact unable to compete as he suffered a knee injury during a saturday night live event.
John Cena defeated Samoa Joe on Friday and Saturday live events. But Cena competed against Bray Wyatt on Sunday as Joe was unable to work, as originally scheduled. The injury, who seemingly happened on Saturday night, is said to be minor as Joe is supposed to be out at least four weeks. WWE hasn’t acknowledged the injury yet but, with Joe out of action, last night’s RAW had to be reshuffled.
So yesterday, instead of competing against Samoa Joe, John Cena was involved in a verbal confrontation with Roman Reigns while signing their No Mercy match contract. And Enzo Amore, who was supposed to be apart of the 15-Man Battle Royal for the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contendership, was pulled out of the match and wrestled Noam Dar for his Cruiserweight debut.
Another knee issue, this time for Xavier Woods. As The New Day was facing Breezango and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos at Monday night live event in Texarkana, Arkansas, Woods torn his knee while going for a jumping DDT and went down. The crowd witnessed the referee doing the “X” sign and the match ending quickly.
Woods was said to be in a lot of pain and unable to leave the ring on his own. He was helped to the back by his partners Big E and Kofi Kingston, as well as WWE medical staff. If, as decribed by people in the arena, Woods really “wrecked” his knee, he could be out of action for a few months. WWE hasn’t acknowledged Woods’ injury yet too.
