Due to JBL departure from SmackDown Live announce table, all the WWE announce teams are about to change from tonight. WWE just posted this tweet announcing Corey Graves will replace JBL as SmackDown Live colour commentator.
BREAKING: @WWEGraves will take over for @JCLayfield on #SDLive starting tomorrow; @McGuinnessNigel will step in for #205Live and #MainEvent!
— WWE (@WWE) September 4, 2017
With this change, Graves is leaving 205 Live and WWE Main Event announce tables. Nigel McGuinness, colour commentator on WWE NXT and WWE United Kingdom shows, is going to replace Graves on both series.
At this stage it is unclear as to whether or not Graves will continue his role on RAW aswell as his additional duties on SmackDown.
Whilst JBL is stepping away from SmackDown Live , he will continue to appear on WWE special events, such as Tribute to the Troops and WrestleMania. According to Sports Illustrated, his decision was planned 11 months ago, when his contract expired last October. The hectic WWE travel schedule is also quoted as a reason for his departure.
