Like we told you a few weeks ago, WWE was eyeing two former ROH Superstars. The signing of Lio Rush was confirmed 2 weeks ago and now the arrival of Donovan Dijak to WWE has finally been confirmed and announced today. Donovan Dijak has been in the wrestling business for only 4 years but has made a huge impact in Ring of Honor, PWG and many other promotions across the World.

Dijak signed with ROH in 2014 after a successful football and basketball career in university and his wrestling debut on the New England independent scene in 2013. Dijak won the 2015 Top Prospect Tournament, allowed him to face Jay Lethal for the ROH World Television Championship. But he refused to take his opportunity to establish himself as a heel in Truth Martini’s stable, The House of Truth.

Dijak has also wrestled for Chaotic Wrestling. He became the CW Heavyweight Championship in October 2014. He lost the title on March 2015 after a reign of 148 days. Dijak also worked with Beyond Wrestling and EVOLVE. He won the 2017 wXw 16 Carat Gold tournament in Germany earlier this year.

WWE pulled a contract offer from Dijak in January as he was still under contract with ROH and following a legal threat from the company. He opted not to re-sign with ROH the following month when his contract expires, putting his career on hold and waiting for another offer from WWE. Dijak made his last indy appearances last July and took part of PWG Battle of Los Angeles last weekend.

According to WWE statement, Dijak is “combining heavy-hitting power with cat-like agility” and his “explosive offense has won him admirers around the world”. In the Performance Center, he will rejoin wrestlers he crossed paths with in the past, like Tommaso Ciampa and Oney Lorcan.

His NXT debut is not known yet, but the recent creation of a former ROH Superstars stable, with Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly, could be the perfect moment to start his brand-new WWE career.
