For the first time ever in its history, Bound For Glory, one of Impact Wrestling historical and premier PPV, will take place in Ottawa, Canada, on Sunday, November 5th at the historic Aberdeen Pavilion. The 1898-built Ottawa landmark will also play host to five days of IMPACT television tapings from November 6th to 10th.

Since 2005, Bound For Glory has been one of the very few IMPACT PPV to usually take place outside of the Impact Zone of Orlando, Florida (excepted in 2005 and 2016). In 2014, it even took place in Tokyo, Japan, at the legendary Korakuen Hall in a common effort with The Great Muta’s Wrestle-1 promotion.

Since Friday, Impact Wrestling has been teasing on Twitter and YouTube a possible foreign location for the upcoming Bound For Glory PPV. Promos were teasing countries like Japan, Canada, India, USA and even the United Kingdom. Yesterday, the company announced the event would take place in Canada, without revealing the city. The Toronto area was quoted as a possible venue as Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the owner of Impact Wrestling, is based there.

In the press announcement, Ed Nordholm, president of IMPACT Wrestling, is sharing his excitement “to bring our blockbuster event Bound for Glory to a Canadian venue rooted in cultural heritage and tradition. Our loyal Canadian viewers have been vocal supporters of IMPACT Wrestling. Canadian professional wrestling crowds have a reputation for their energy and enthusiasm, so we are excited to bring them an unforgettable night of action.”

World Champion Eli Drake, former champion Alberto El Patron are announced to be apart of the PPV. Johnny Impact, the holder of the Mega, Latin American and World Cruiserweight championship belts in Lucha Libre AAA, will be making his inaugural Bound for Glory appearance. A possible Bobby Lashley appearance is teased. Gail Kim, the Knockouts, the X-Division stars and IMPACT international talents like El Hijo del Fantasma, Pagano and El Texano Jr. are also officially set to appear.

It’s interesting to quote that no GFW branding is featured in the press announcement and in the promotional graphics or videos. Ticket on-sale information for Bound for Glory and IMPACT tapings will be revealed in the coming weeks.
