Its a journey in to the past for WWE Home Video as they have unleashed WWE Unreleased:1986 – 1995. Simply put it’s a collection of never seen before matches from WWE’s “Golden” and “New Generation” Era’s featuring Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair and many more.
Longtime WWE or should I say WWF fans will sit back, become awestruck as the nostalgia trip overtakes them and they become engrossed in the fascinating amount of matches that some fans never got to see. If you were like me, 1988 onwards Sky or BskyB was a thing and you only were able to get you’re wrestling injection through ‘Superstars”, ‘Wrestling Challenge’ and ‘Prime Time’ so this offering will intrigue you more.
As it says in the title, it is all about the matches with this release, and the three discs contain, 45 MATCHES, thats right 45! Many of the matches see your wrestling favourites have bouts before they reached the heights of household names (step forward Hulk Machine now Hulk Hogan as well as Dingo Warrior aka Ultimate Warrior) or even see superstars battle each other before their most famous encounters. (Bret Hart vs British Bulldog)
For wrestling fans who loved to see what WWE was like in the 80’s and early 90’s this is for you as well as those fans who want to fill in the blanks of certain feuds only seen on tv shows but never reached their conclusion at the big four PPV’s. (aka Rowdy Piper vs Ric Flair) Also a special mention, it is great to see appearances from Bobby “The Brain” Heenan in matches doing exactly what he does best.
This is a superb release from WWE Home Video and one I would recommend, sure the matches aren’t as fast paced as wrestling is now, some matches aren’t recommended for repetitive viewing but if you love your nostalgia and wish wrestling you go back to the days of Kayfabe, this is for you.
Ps: Who the hell are the Toxic Turtles? that’s right you read me right.
