This tweet posted by IMPACT Wrestling is short but it’s to the point. Jeff Jarrett, as well as his brand GFW, is no longer working with IMPACT Wrestling. In the beginning of September, the company announced Jarrett was taking indefinite leave from his position as the Chief Creative Officer of IMPACT. The decision was made by Ed Nordholm, Executive Vice President of Anthem Sports & Entertainment and President of Impact Wrestling, due to unhappiness from Nordholm about Jarrett’s “erratic behaviour.”

The merger between GFW and IMPACT was not complete at the time and Anthem Sports, owner of IMPACT, decided to relocate their brand to Canada, instead of Nashville. Which means Jeff Jarrett would probably be able to keep the trademarks for Global Force Wrestling and GFW, and work to continue his own promotion in his hometown of Nashville. No news yet on his future projects.

The news of the end of relations between Anthem and GFW is not a surprise as the GFW letters have been removed from Impact logo, Bound for Glory has been promoted as an IMPACT event, and most of the belts are presented as IMPACT belts. IMPACT Wrestling, of course, is remaining a property of Anthem Sports. The team of creatives currently on board, the partnerships with AAA and NOAH, as well as the current roster are, at the moment, not changing.
