Carmella is going to be able to put her dog collar in a closet as she doesn’t have a valet anymore. WWE just announced, with its classic words, they have released James Ellsworth. He didn’t appear on SmackDown Live yesterday and was recently attacked by the whole Blue Brand female roster during the British and Italian live events, after he lost his match against Becky Lynch last week on TV.
Ellsworth made some appearances with WWE between 2014 and 2016, every time the company was in the Baltimore area, where he runs his own wrestling promotion. In July 2016 on RAW, he became a fan favourite by being defeated by Braun Strowman claiming “any man with two hands has a fighting chance”.
He resurfaced on SmackDown Live to team up and then square off with AJ Styles. Ellsworth even had a WWE World Championship match against Styles with Ambrose, Styles’ opponent at that time, as time-keeper. A match he won by disqualification. Ellsworth then continued to be involved in Styles’ rivalry with Ambrose, offering assistance to Ambrose, sometimes costing him opportunities, sometimes giving some to him.
Ellsworth became the mascot of Team SmackDown at last year’s Survivor Series, thanks to SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon, before coming back to his “feud” with AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. He earned many WWE World Championship matches but failed to succeed every time.
He then allied with Carmella, helping her win her matches and the Women’s Money in The Bank Ladder match. Their epic relationship, made of kisses, slaps, dog collars and dog houses, ended after he was defeated by Becky Lynch in Manchester last week in an intergender match as Carmella attacked him after his loss. He was molested by the whole SmackDown female roster every night during the rest of the European tour that followed the Manchester episode, in UK and Italy live events.
