He was there on SmackDown Live last Tuesday night to congratulate his daughter Charlotte after winning her first SmackDown Women’s Championship title. Ric Flair proved not only he’s fine but he’s back. As WWE has just announced, the Nature Boy will be apart of the historical Starrcade event that is taking place on Saturday, November 25, as a SmackDown live event.
As we told you a few weeks ago, for the first time in 30 years, Starrcade is going to come home in its historical venue of Greensboro, N.C., at the Greensboro Coliseum. In 1983, Ric Flair main evented the first-ever edition against Harley Race, when the event was produced by the NWA. Ric Flair helped build the legend of Starrcade when he won that night of 1983 the second of his 16 World Championships.
He would then be in the main event of every edition, under the NWA flagship, until 1989 (he also appeared in the 1990 edition). When Starrcade became a WCW PPV, Ric Flair continued to make history, appearing in the main event of the 1993 and 1995 issues. One way or another, Flair had been involved, one way or another, in almost every Starrcade.
Other Legends will be there by his side too as WWE Hall of Famers Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson even challenged a few weeks ago The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express for a match at Starrcade. Morton and Gibson answered they were ready to fight. Anderson and Gallows now just have to be there for what they asked.
The Hardy Boyz are also confirmed to appear at Starrcade in their home state of North Carolina. If Jeff is not cleared yet, he will be performing with his band a special acoustic show at The Blind Tiger Club of Greensboro the same day, just after Starrcade.
