The historical return of one of the legendary PPV in the history of wrestling will not be broadcasted. And it’s a shame in many ways, as Legends of the iconic event were present alongside the SmackDown Live roster. For the first time in 30 years, Starrcade was going home in its historical venue of Greensboro, N.C., at the Greensboro Coliseum. The event crossed the generation and the promotions to become a major NWA and then WCW (read our story here) PPV.

Ric Flair vs. Harley Race was 1983 first-ever Starrcade main event. Wrestling legends like Dusty Rhodes, The Four Horsemen, Magnum TA or The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express etched their names into sports-entertainment history on the stage of Starrcade. During the WCW era, Sting, Vader, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, the nWo, Ric Flair, Goldberg or Roddy Piper main evented Starrcade PPV. WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson were announced to appear on that very special event.
