Many Indian people have joined the WWE Performance Center over the last few weeks. Mae Young Classic tournament participant Kavita Devi was the Indian woman to sign with WWE. Indian TV star Saurav Gurjar and former pro baseball player Rinku Singh also joined the PC, as well as an independent wrestler and bodybuilder Amanpreet Singh today, as WWE announced.

Described as a 6’2 and 240 pounds powerhouse figure from Punjab, India, Singh is a self-taught bodybuilder who won local competitions before turning his focus to wrestling in 2011. Trained by Savio Vega and Al Snow, Singh enjoyed success inside the ring in his native India, as well as in the United States and United Kingdom (he wrestled for British Empire Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Pride and World Association of Wrestling in the UK).

Singh was in fact discovered by TNA Wrestling when they created the Ring Ka King project of an Indian promotion in 2011. If the project was stopped the year after, he emerged in 2014 on IMPACT Wrestling and became a member of James Storm’s “The Revolution”. Under the name Khoya, he was involved in different feuds and teams with James Storm or Grado. He reverted to his original wrestler name, Mahabali Shera, in 2015. He was the epicentre, alongside Sonjay Dutt, of IMPACT Mumbai tapings where he was able to wrestle in front of his family in May 2017.

Singh left IMPACT around September 2017 and worked on the independent circuit in USA and Canada, like he has been doing since 2015. He’s now signed with WWE, under his real name, proud to represent his country. “I came to the U.S. with the dream that someday, I am going to make my country proud. I would consider myself fortunate if I am able to become a positive role model for the youngsters of my country and impact lives. I don’t think I can find a better platform than WWE to empower myself to empower others, especially those back at home,” said Singh.
