Ring Of Honor’s best head to Japan with all eyes on the leadership battle for the Bullet Club to win as the Golden Lovers return to a New Japan ring.

Tag-Team Match: Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi vs Toa Henare & Katsuya Kitamura

Henare has officially broken out of young lion status having got his own entrance theme tonight.  Kitamura started the match using his insane power advantage to gain an advantage on Takahashi.  Kitamura and Fale the two biggest men in the match clashed like bulls.  The Bullet Club work over Kitamura.  He eventually makes the hot tag to Henare who runs wild on his opponents.  The match breaks down and Kitamura almost scores the win with a Spear.  His attempt at winning with a Jackhammer is cut off and Fale puts him away with the Grenade.  Very solid opener and typical young lion match

Winners: Bullet Club Match Rating: 4 out of 10

Trios Tag Match: Jushin Liger, Cheeseburger & Delirious vs. Guerrilas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) & Hikuleo

The brothers work over Liger for much of the match.  Hikuleo uses his power to keep control over the junior, G.O.D pull out some cool double team moves.  A lot of typical Bullet Club shenanigans.  Liger makes the comeback and tags in Cheeseburger who takes advantage of some miscommunication from the BC.  Delirious gets in and defeats Hikuleo with a Sunset Flip.  The faces gain momentum heading into a trios title match at night 2.

Winners: Jushin Liger, Cheeseburger & Delirious Match Rating: 2 out of 10

Tag-Team Match: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. David Finlay & Juice Robinson

Very interesting to see the Bucks work with two heavyweights.  As Being The Elite fans know Cody has been encouraging them to go heavyweight.  Some good action as Finlay and Robinson continue to look good as a team.  Robinson controls much of the match with his Belly to belly suplexes and Cannonballs.  Finlay tags in and works over Matt’s injured back.  Matt fights him off and get’s the hot tag to Nick who has perfected the art of the hot tag.  Dives follow, the double sharpshooter spot from the Bucks.  The match breaks down and Juice starts laying in jabs to Nick, his taunting costs him as he eats a double superkick.  Meltzer Driver to Finlay as the Bucks shockingly beat the Heavyweights.

Winners: The Young Bucks Match Rating: 5 out of 10

Three-Way Match: Flip Gordon vs. KUSHIDA & Hiromu Takahashi

Just look at the names involved.  Two of the best Junior Heavyweight workers in the world and one of the most underrated fliers in Flip Gordon.  The usual trope of one guy powdering while the other two wow the crowd ensues.  Flip has his leg worked over as Takahashi continues to keep KUSHIDA out of the action.  Moonsaults, Rana’s and various forms of flips ensues,  Flip knocks KUSHIDA off the top and puts Takahashi away with a 450 splash.  Flip picks up the surprise win as he could be earning himself a spot in BOSJ or a future title shot on US soil.

Winner: Flip Gordon Match Rating: 6 out of 10

Match 5: CHAOS (TRENT, Chuckie T & Jay White) vs. Dalton Castle, Jay Lethal & Ryusuke Taguchi

TRENT and Castle start ahead of their title match tomorrow.  It was a good back and forth and a nice teaser of what we’ll get tomorrow.  Taguchi and co. work over Chuckie T.  He makes the comeback by dropkicking Taguchi in the butt.  White comes in and the match gets more serious.  CHAOS work over Taguchi until he makes the hot tag to Lethal after hitting his ass attack.  The match breaks down from here, eventually Jay White hits the Bladerunner on Taguchi for the win.

Winners: CHAOS  Match Rating: 5 out of 10

IWGP NEVER Openweight Championship: Hirooki Goto (c) vs. Beer City Bruiser

Shoulder tackles, brawling on the floor, Bruiser spits beer in the face and takes it to the ground.  The match heats up and the two pull out the bombs.  Bruiser really takes the fight to the champion.  Bruiser misses a frog splash that could cost him.  The two trade clotheslines.  Goto cracks Bruiser with a headbutt and hits the GTR for the win.  A goto special in every sense of the word so while I enjoyed it, your mileage may vary.

Winner: Hirooki Goto Match Rating: 6 out of 10

Main Event Trios Tag Match: Cody, Adam Page & Marty Scurll vs. Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi) & Chase Owens

The crowd absolutely adored the Lovers and gave them the reception they deserve.  Cody went full heel spitting on a Golden Lovers sign.  The good guys work over Page with quick tags.  Scurll is tagged in and has to face Omega.  Scurll is clearly conflicted here.  He and Omega do some fantastic technical work in the ring until Cody and Page distract Omega.  Marty delays doing the finger break spot allowing Ibushi to make the save.  This swings the momentum towards the Lovers until Cody makes the save.  This allows team Cody to work over Owens for awhile.  Owens eventually fights them off and makes the hot tag.  The Lovers are in and clear the ring.  THEY HIT STEREO GOLDEN STAR MOONSAULTS as the crowd (and I) go nuts.  We get a very small tease of Omega vs Cody before Hangman breaks it up.  Cody taunts Omega by kissing him and Ibushi makes him eat a dropkick.  Scurll has some near falls on Ibushi and almost put him away with the Chicken Wing.  Omega and Cody spill to the floor.  It comes down to Page and Owens.  Owens looks like he’s about to win with the Package Piledriver but Page reverses and hits him with the Right of passage for the win.  Personally as a huge Golden lover’s fan this was the best match ever but objectively was a great four star match

Winners: Cody, Marty Scurll & Hangman Page Match Rating: 8 out of 10

Post Match: Omega and Cody brawl until the Bucks come out to keep the peace and pull them apart.  Cody takes a microphone and claims to be the face of ROH.  He puts down the Lovers and says that everyone is either team Kenny or team Cody.  He ends the promo with a definitive “Bullet Club is Fine…..Bullet Club is MINE”
