It’s Best of the Super Juniors Day 8, we’ve still got mostly static camera shots and no commentary. We head into the backstretch of the tournament with some very interesting stories still in play and no clear winners in sight. Let’s see what happened…
BOSJ Tournament Match: Marty Scurll vs El Desperado
– Scurll has the early advantage
– 2 WHOLE MINUTES of crowd brawling
– Despy controlling with Scurll focusing comebacks on the arm
– Both heels try to out cheat each other as we head for the finish
– Scurll picks up the win with the Chicken Wing
Winner: Marty Scurll Rating: 5 out of 10
BOSJ Tournament Match: Dragon Lee vs Chris Sabin
– Slow to start with mostly technical stuff for the first few minutes
– On the apron, Sabin knocks Lee off
– Goes for a cannonball, LEE CATCHES BUT SABIN HITS A HURRICANRANA
– Follows with a cannonball
– Going for broke time as they each try to get the win
– Sabin wins with cradle shock
– This match was fine
Winner: Chris Sabin Rating: 5 out of 10
BOSJ Tournament Match: KUSHIDA vs Sho
– Shoot style to start
– A lot of groundwork and submissions
– KUSHIDA picking apart Sho’s limbs
– KUSHIDA just can’t get Sho to give up
– Sho uses his power advantage to try and beat KUSHIDA
– KUSHIDA keeps going for the Hoverboard lock
– Finally locks it in
– Sho looks to get out but KUSHIDA reverses it into Back To The Future for the win
– This isn’t the match you expect from the Juniors and your mileage may vary on this one. As someone that doesn’t enjoy this style, I admit I’m lower on it than most.
Winner: KUSHIDA Rating: 3 out of 10
BOSJ Tournament Match: Hiromu Takahashi vs Ryusuke Taguchi
– HIROMU ATTEMPTS TO KILL TAGUCHI WITH THE SUNSET FLIP TO THE OUTSIDE
– thankfully(?) he doesn’t hit it
– Spills outside
– Taguchi runs into a wall, yes you read that right.
– Mandatory 19 count spot
– Taguchi brings out the ass attacks
– Taguchi keeps trying for that ankle lock
– Taguchi getting serious and really laying into Takahashi
– Taguchi getting some near falls
– Ankle Lock is synched in
– trading near falls
– Triangle choke locked on as Taguchi tries to fight out but he submits as Takahashi gets the W
– Another great main event in this already awesome BOSJ
Winner: Hiromu Takahashi Rating: 8 out of 10
A real variety show with 4 different matches. Had I like the semi-main more, I’m sure this night would rank higher on my list but even still, it was another good night of action.
