Here we are, Bound for Glory, this Sunday, live from NYC. And this week, the last Impact from Mexico, but also the ultimate show until the big event. Three matches have been announced, a 6-Man Tag Team match with Johnny Impact, Eddie Edwards and Fallah Bahh squaring off with Austin Aries, Killer Kross and Moose. Tessa Blanchard will put her Knockouts title on the line against Keyra, AAA young but talented Luchadora, and Petey Williams, Jack Evans, Puma King and Trevor Lee will fight because of Scarlett Bordeaux’s beautiful eyes. LAX 5150 and LAX OGz will also have one last summit. A little bird is telling me we’ll also have a lot of previews for Bound for Glory matches too, as the card is not complete yet… So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

(Many video packages about BFG matches were shown between the matches and backstage segments)

  • Petey Williams defeated Jack Evans, Trevor Lee and Puma King in a 4 Way match. But Scarlett Bordeaux wasn’t there…
  • Rich Swann was happy Matt Sydal found someone to buy into his third eye crap. He announced he had found a partner, someone just like him, and this man is Willie Mack!
  • Maximo defeated Grado by kissing him on the lips… Grado kissed him too, on the lips too…
  • Eli Drake announced he will be at Bound for Glory for an open challenge for anyone from New York.
  • Rohit Raju defeated Gursinder Singh in a “Loser returns to India” match. Gama Singh slapped Raju after the match.

  • Austin Aries, Killer Kross, & Moose defeated Fallah Bahh, Johnny Impact, & Eddie Edwards
  • Father James Mitchell was shown in a gothic church playing the organ. Allie walked up from behind him and Mitchell said he knew that he would see her. He asked if the darkness had consumed her, and she asked for his help to get back to the Undead Realm. She knew what she was doing and the deal she was making, she didn’t want her soul back, and he reminded her that to come back from the coffin, she will have to sacrifice her soul. He said there were no guarantees she will get her friend back. But she agreed and they shook hands.
  • Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard defeated Keyra
  • LAX 5150 and LAX OGz summit ended up in a big brawl. King at first promised in a few days he will end the myth and legend of Konnan. King will destroy everything Konnan has ever built and will end LAX once and for all. Konnan cuts a promo in Spanish. All he had to do was saying the word and the fans will rush the ring and kick King’s ass. Konnan said that he’s the one ahead of King, that he raised him as the father he never had and got him into the game just like he did with Homicide & Hernandez. King violated the G-code and said that the cease-fire was now over at the orders of the bosses. Let the brawl begin…

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

– Austin Aries, Moose and Killer Kross vs. Johnny Impact, Eddie Edwards and Fallah Bahh
To tease Bound for Glory and the Johnny/Austin and Eddie/Moose matches, this match was perfect. It was slow to start, but it was good… (Did you read my exclusive interview with Austin Aries? If not, it’s here.)
Kross immediately takes Johnny down and then tossed him around. Bahh tagged in, Kross tried to lift him for a single leg, but “NO, NO, NO!” Kross stroke, but Bahh fired up with chops and rights but Kross ran him over with a clothesline. Moose tagged in, so did Eddie. They brawled, traded strikes, Moose ripped open Eddie’s shirt for chops but Eddie lit him up instead and connected with a suplex. They headed up top and Eddie hit a hurricanrana. Moose cut off Eddie, dropkicked him to the floor while Aries attacked and knocked
Impact to the floor.

Kross tagged in, Aries tagged in, then Bahh tagged in and ran wild on Aries with the belly to belly. Bahh went for the Banzai drop but Moose cut him off. Kross tagged back in and pummeled Bahh in the corner. After commercials, Moose was in working over Bahh. Aries then tagged in and laid in chops. Bahh battled back, but Aries raked his back. Moose tagged back in and quickly tagged in Kross as they isolated Bahh. Kross hit a DDT before Moose tagged in. But Bahh cut him off and tagged in Johnny. Aries in as well, they traded strikes, and Impact hit a leg lariat and a knee strike.

Impact connected with the sliding German and headed up top. He dropped down and rolled through, but Aries cut him off with the Last Chancery. Johnny made the ropes, Eddie got Kross as Impact hit a superkick. Impact countered the Go to Hell with a hurricanrana but ate a clothesline from Moose. Eddie dumped him, Kross came in but Bahh took him out. Eddie dove, Aries attacked Bahh, took out his knee and knocked him to the floor. Impact hit the Chuck kick and the Starship Pain, but Kross made the save and hit the Saito suplex on the floor. Moose hit an apron bomb on Eddie. Back in, Aries hit the Brainbuster on Impact for the win. Will it end the same way on Sunday?

– The LAX summit
This storyline has gone so far. This match will be epic but won’t be Match of the night (most of it will be tapped…). In this mix of Latin identity, war for power, but also legacy, there were some very ugly moments. But give a mic to Eddie Kingston or Konnan and you’ll witness pure magic. Konnan is such an icon, not only in Mexico but all over the world, his legacy is set in stone forever.  Now it’s time whether for the student to kill the Master. Or for the Master to definitely shut up his “kid”. Because to be the man, you have to beat the man…

– Puma King vs. Petey Williams vs. Jack Evans vs. Trevor Lee
Even if this match was set because of Scarlett Bordeaux, this match was meant to be a good one. Take Petey Williams and the match will be a modern classic. Add 2 AAA talents like Puma King and Jack Evans to the equation and you’ll reach new heights only a Yeti as Trevor Lee can reach.
They all attacked Lee to begin, and it broke down to Puma and Petey. They worked into some back and forth, Petey tripped him up and hit a dropkick to the back. Puma fought back with a superkick, but Lee back in hit a backbreaker. Lee worked over Petey and dumped Puma. He laid the boots to Petey, worked him over in the corner and whipped him into the turnbuckles.

Lee then grounded the action, Petey fought off a suplex and hit a side Russian leg sweep. He teased the Destroyer but trapped Lee into the Sharpshooter. Evans broke that up, dumped Lee and hit a dropkick on Petey. The Standing Moonsault ate the knees (thanks to Don Callis for saying Evans had one foot on Petey’s back and the other on his testicles…) and Puma wiped out Lee. He dumped Evans and connected with a plancha. Puma King hit a codebreaker on Lee until Evans went back in and hit a dropsault. Puma cut him off with a superkick, but Evans fought back with a Tidal Crush kick. The 630 followed but Lee cut him off. Petey hit a Canadian Destroyer outta nowhere on Lee for the win. Well done, Petey, you earned a blonde Barbie!

The not-Nygma’s Moment(s) of the Week

– The Desi Hit Squad
The creation of this stable was supposed to be something huge, mostly under the tutelage of the Legendary Gama Singh. But the boat has sunk so fast we haven’t even had the chance to appreciate what the guys were about. Raju and Singh have never been able to work as a team. Gama Singh has never been shown as the real Legend he is. What a miss…

– Grado
Katy Perry can change the lyrics of her song as Grado “kissed a boy and he liked it.” Well, Maximo kissed the first, but Grado appreciated because he requested a second round. Joe Hendry must be terribly jealous…

– Tessa Blanchard
She’s strong, she’s the Champion. Impact Wrestling has done anything possible to show how dominant she can be as a wrestler and as a Champion. I’m still not convinced, sorry…

The Nygma’s Award of the Week

– Father James Mitchell and Allie
Allie the Undead Bride Slayer? I take it. To beat the devil, you need to sympathize with it. Allie, hatchet in hand, chose to explore her darkest side. With Abyss not in the card, this segment and match is a great way to include Father James Mitchell in a PPV concept he has widely contributed to the success of.

– Eli Drake
At Bound of Glory, Eli Drake will be there for an open challenge and, in my enygmatic mind, 2 letters and a figure are coming back again and again. May it be? Could it be? If the man I think and you think of was making an appearance at Bound for Glory, the show would be catapulted into another universe. The Internet would break down, social media would break down. Please, may it be…

– Willie Mack
If you don’t know who Willie Mack is, you’ve better take a look at Lucha Underground. He’s been in the business for more than 10 years and has the agility of a Luchador, despite his size and body. Impact Wrestling is doing another great addition to its roster with him.

To be eNYGMAtic…

No oVe, excepted in a video segment, tonight but the show was not bad at all. Here was the spicy sauce I was telling you about last week, what we were deeply missing as we were coming to Bound for Glory. Now the card is set, the stakes are high, this PPV could be the biggest event of the year, like the biggest flop… I’ll see you back on Monday night to give you my thoughts on the PPV in an enygmatic review.
Now, I’m not going to say the classic “until next week” because, as of today, I don’t know if I’ll be there next week. I’ve been doing this review non-stop for 16 months, I’ve been supporting this company in the rough times, like in the good times. But I feel the need to go back to the NygmaTech to recharge my batteries. But until next time, may it be next week or later, never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
