Bound for Glory was a very good PPV, a great mix of wrestling, talent and action, but nothing about PG and chitchats. If you read my review that was out on Monday night, I think you understood the PPV summed up pretty well everything we’d been talking about for weeks and weeks. But it’s time to open a new Chapter, the one that will lead us to 2019, to Nashville and to Homecoming on January 6. On the menu this week, Brian Cage is putting the X-Division on the line against Rich Swann, Ethan Page will square off with Trevor Lee, Allie and Alisha Edwards will compete too, and we’ll hear from the new World Champion, Johnny Impact, Scarlett Bordeaux and LAX. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

  • Johnny Impact made his Championship Adress. After a few statements, he said he will defend against anyone he feels deserves a shot. Fenix arrived, congratulated Impact, and asked for an opportunity for a title shot next week. Impact said he couldn’t say no now. They agreed to tear the place down next week and remain friends.
  • Backstage, Tommy Dreamer was decided to kick Moose’s ass. Moose and Kross accepted his challenge.
  • Taya Valkyrie defeated Katarina Leigh. After the match, Taya told McKenzie Mitchell she no longer respected Tess Blanchard.
  • Matt Sydal and Ethan Page were meditating on their loss.
  • Gama Singh attacked Rohit Raju and told him not to think. He told him he has one more test to face: a match against Gama Singh next week.

  • Ethan Page defeated Trevor Lee.
  • Backstage Rich Swann was planning to win the X-Division title tonight.
  • Petey Williams wanted to be Scarlett’s talent search guy. She laughed and told him there are so many others. So she decided to open up her talent search to all and will have a viewing party next week.
  • Killer Kross defeated Tommy Dreamer via referee stoppage. Eddie Edwards wasn’t at ringside.
  • Backstage,  Eli Drake said he was not pleased about BFG, and claimed a conspiracy against him. He said Impact Wrestling is an unsafe working environment and threatens to sue.

  • LAX were celebrating their BFG win. They toasted to finishing the OGz, but the OGz arrive. King said that he had a message. They met with the bosses that were kind enough to let them keep a piece of NYC under one condition, that they and LAX 5150 stay on separate sides.
  • Allie defeated Alisha Edwards. She beat down Edwards after the match, Kiera Hogan made the save, Allie snapped.
  • Jordynne Grace is coming soon.
  • X-Division Champion Brian Cage defeated Rich Swann. After the match, Sami Callihan arrived and said he wants the X-Division title. He showed a loop of him pinning Cage at BFG. Sami attacked, Cage looked for the Drill Claw, but the Crist brothers make the save. Jake ate the Drill Claw and was dragged to the back.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

Impact X-Division Championship match: Brian Cage (c) vs. Rich Swann
The dancing David vs. Monster Goliath (with a bad leg), but with a high-flying twist and Sami Callihan’s shadow…
Swann danced around, but Cage shoved him down and took control. Swann hit a dropkick, Cage cut him off but Swann replied with an enzuigiri. Cage tossed Swann around, whipped Swann to the buckles, unloaded a clothesline. Swann countered a suplex to hit an apron superkick. Cage then caught him and slammed him into the ring post with a powerbomb. Back in, Cage hit the deadlift suplex, tossed Swann all around, connected with a toss slam. But Swann battled back with kicks, and they caught themselves in a dragon rana.

They recovered and Swann hit a DDT. He headed up top, rolled through on the splash, Cage replied with a superkick, but Swann followed with kicks and a pump handle slam and covers. He fought off the powerbomb, but Cage hit a burning hammer. Cage took Swann up top, followed him up, but Swann fought out and hits an enzuigiri. Cage then dove off into a cutter. Swann hit the Lethal Injection, headed up top and hit the 450. Swann came back up top but missed the Phoenix splash. Cage hit a powerbomb, a buckle bomb, and the Weapon X for the win. Swann survived 15 minutes and he did very well in front of Cage that was not really 100%. Good surprise.

– Allie w/ Kiera Hogan vs. Alisha Edwards
Allie is just back from the Undead Realm where she came to save Kiera Hogan and was helped by Rosemary. Alisha is such a good wrestler the match was meant to be interesting.
Allie has darkened her hair since Bound for Glory… Alisha and Allie locked up. After a backslide, Alisha connected with arm drags but missed a senton. Allie followed with chops and a clothesline. Edwards fired back with strikes and laps, Allie got nervous but Edwards hit some clotheslines and a running cross body in the ropes. Edwards locked on a sleeper, dragged Allie to the mat, but Allie fired up and escaped. Suddenly, Allie completely snapped, slapped herself around and started mauling Edwards with strikes and kicks. Allie finished things up with a code breaker for the win. Allie definitely left her soul in another Realm…

– Killer Kross w/ Moose vs. Tommy Dreamer
Dreamer wanted Moose, he had Killer Kross with Shaolin Moose. Bad news…
Kross attacked, but Dreamer hit a running cross body and an arm drag. They worked to the floor, Dreamer laid in chops and elbows. Kross cut him off and nutcracked/crotched him on the barricade. He followed with strikes and distracted the referee to allow Moose to attack. Kross then worked the back of Dreamer by whipping him into the buckles. Dreamer fought back, but Kross hit a T-Bone Suplex.

Kross followed with a short-armed clothesline and then grounded things with a cravat. Dreamer tried to escape, but Kross hit a slam. Kross headed up top, Dreamer nutcracked/crotched him and followed with a superplex. They traded strikes, Dreamer hit a cutter but Moose distracted him, and Dreamer fought off the choke with a nutcracker. Dreamer fought off the Saito suplex by biting Kross, but Kross fought him off and hit it anyway. Kross hits another. The referee checked on Dreamer and stopped the match. Post-match, Dreamer took a beat down from Moose. Oops, Killer Kross killed one again…

The not-Nygma’s Moment(s) of the Week

– The Desi Hit Squad
Gama Singh, 63, will have to wrestle Rohit Raju, 38, to try to save this Desi Hit Squad thing… What do you want me to add?

– Scarlett Bordeaux and Petey Williams
Petey is cute and adorable, we already knew it, Scarlett… But HE wrestles, unlike you, Scarlett…

– The LAX vs. LAX war
After 2 serious beatdowns at Slammiversary and Bound for Glory, we could imagine this storyline would come to an end and the OGz would leave the company. Missed. We’re still going to have 2 LAX on Impact Wrestling. Each faction may have its own territory, Impact is the only one that matters…

The Nygma’s Award of the Week

– Johnny Impact
The new Impact World Champion had to make a statement after all that happened before Bound for Glory. I won’t talk about Austin Aries and his status, because no one knows officially what it is. Johnny is decided to be a defending Champion, that’s great, Fénix will be the first to have the opportunity to let Johnny show it. The two have known each other very well, so it will be a great match to watch next week. Being the face of a company is not an easy thing.  To walk in the footsteps of wrestling Legends, Johnny will have a lot to prove. I wish him nothing else than success in it.

– Taya Valkyrie
She’s been with the company for something like a year, but I tend to think we
are suddenly finding out what Taya is about. If you’re watching Lucha Underground, you already knew she’s one of the fiercest women in the business. But the Wera Loca has never had the chance to show it on Impact. But her time seems to be now.

– Jordynne Grace
Who is this new Knockout that will be coming soon? At 22, Jordynne Grace has been wrestling her way through the independent circuit for 6 years. She worked for CZW, Women Superstars Uncensored, SHINE, among many others. She’s the current WSU Spirit Champion, a title she took away from a certain Kiera Hogan. She made her debut in the UK and Ireland with EVE and OTT a few weeks ago, but also worked in Japan and Mexico before. The “Last Pure Athlete” is ready to shine on national television, and I can’t wait to see that.

To be eNYGMAtic…

This episode was like a slow start, a reset in fact. A good show to start a new chapter. With this episode, Impact Wrestling is like telling the fans: everything is possible now, and we’re going to prove it to you. The road to Bound for Glory was pretty chaotic, the long road to Homecoming just can’t be the same. Homecoming will take place 2 days after NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 13, another challenge the company will have to face. But they can do it. No, they will do it. On this optimistic note, until next time, may it be next week or later, never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
