If the NXT brand already came to the UK in December 2015 for a special TakeOver PPV live from London, the brand-new NXT UK brand will have its own PPV on January 12, 2019, at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, where the first-ever WWE UK Championship Tournament took place in January 2017. The PPV will stream live on the WWE Network.

Triple H made the announcement of this upcoming PPV yesterday night during NXT UK tapings in Liverpool (see below). Some tapings will take place the next day, Sunday, January 13, in the same place. “Two years ago, I told you we were coming to the UK to help you build your empire,” Triple H said. “Well, you have done it. Because here we stand today, NXT UK is one of the hottest brands on the planet because of you. You have made this a success across the board, the reaction to it has been off the charts, talent from around the world are begging to come into NXT UK because it’s the hottest things the industry has ever seen.”

In just 6 months, the NXT UK brand turned a dream into an incredible reality. After the second UK Championship tournament, that took place last April, Johnny Saint was appointed General Manager of WWE’s United Kingdom-based brand, cementing the creation of the UK brand. A few weeks after, it was announced that WWE’s United Kingdom-based brand would begin filming a new show titled NXT UK in July 2018, and that championships for the brand’s women’s and tag team divisions would be introduced.

NXT UK has started to stream on the WWE Network since next Wednesday, 17 Oct, 8 pm BST. The show is featuring the greatest male and female competitors from the UK. At 554 days, Pete Dunne is still the WWE United Kingdom Champion, while Rhea Ripley was crowned the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Championship during August tapings. The first-ever NXT UK Tag team Champions will be crowned in Blackpool at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool.

WWE has built an impressive roster of talents with the 2 UK tournaments and also the Mae Young Classic ones. The NXT UK roster is made of more than 20 male wrestlers and 10 female the world now knows very well, thanks to the Wednesday’s weekly shows. Now it’s time for them to steal the show with their own NXT UK-made PPV and take over the whole world with their incredible talent.

Tickets go on sale this Monday at 10 AM GMT for both shows at Live Nation.
