There is officially no more “TNA Original” on Impact Wrestling. Sonjay Dutt, a long-time Impact wrestler turned Creative, and Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer Abyss, who has been with the company since its Day One, have left the company. If Abyss was a backstage producer but still active in the Impact Zone, even if less before, Dutt was not keen on coming back in a ring and was enjoying being a Creative.

Ed Nordholm, President of Impact Wrestling, was reached by another wrestling media and confirmed,  “We reached an amicable agreement with Sonjay and Abyss to allow them to pursue this opportunity. They have been tremendous contributors to IMPACT Wrestling and we wish them every success. We are thrilled that Konnan and Tommy Dreamer have agreed to bring their 50+ years of experience to our core creative team.” Both wrestling Legends were working for Impact Wrestling both in front and behind the cameras lately, but their role behind the scenes is now also a full-time work for the two.

Impact officials announced the departures to the rest of the roster in an E-Mail, wishing the two veterans well. The company did not want to hold back both men from pursuing better opportunities that they were offered, as it seems, by WWE. It was noted today that Impact had to release them from contracts in order for them to be able to sign with WWE, and the internal feeling was that there was no positive in forcing them to stay. Abyss and Dutt are said to be hired for behind-the-scenes roles in WWE.
