On AEW Road to Double or Nothing Episode 4, Cody Rhodes talked about bringing Double or Nothing to life with the show selling out 12,000 tickets in four minutes. The big news for British wrestling fans, however, was that Superbad Kip Sabian has signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Sabian started training in 2009 and was trained by the legendary Knight family, performing for the WAW promotion for many years. He quit a well-paid job to become a full-time professional wrestler (a risk at the time that, thankfully, paid off) and has been seen across the United Kingdom, including the ITV series WOS Wrestling.
Describing himself as “the handsome hustler”, it’s a monicker that certainly fits Sabian and his confidence and natural charisma shine when he takes to the microphone. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s an incredible in-ring talent, too, and well respected amongst his peers and contemporaries behind the scenes, too; he has “so many friends in wrestling for a reason” stated NGW’s Rich Dunn, whilst Nathan Cruz was the man who would convince Sabian to spread his wings.
For Sabian, 2017 and 2018 were huge years for him as he capitalised on his decision to move away from his home promotion and he was rapidly embraced by some of the best companies in the British wrestling scene, taking it by storm wherever he appeared. 2019 was already stacking up to be yet another impressive showcase for Sabian and that was before the AEW announcement!
There was no doubt that Sabian would have been on the radar of international companies and the nascent AEW’s decision to sign such a talented young performer is a testament to their faith in finding the best talent from around the world and exposing them to the biggest fanbase possible.
By his own admissions, there’s going to be many fans who don’t know Kip Sabian, but there can be no doubt that the gifted artist is going to be one that the world will watch when Double or Nothing comes to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25th 2019.
