WWE confirmed that they have just signed five new superstars throughout Europe. The newest talents added to the NXT UK brand are Ilja Rukober, Kay Lee Ray, Jazzy Gabert, Oliver Sauter, and Jay Melrose. The newest members of the NXT brand will join current NXT UK Superstars in the WWE United Kingdom Performance Center located in North London.
The newest signees are no stranger to the world of professional wrestling. Some have competed in tournaments for WWE.
Jazzy Gabert is one of the most physically astounding talents to be signed. She is considered and called the Alpha Female. The presence and he physique prove her ability to rule the squared circle. Jazzy Gabert, from Bisingen, Germany, was born on June 4, 1982 and is a professional powerlifter and strong woman. Her career in pro-wrestling started in 2001. The Alpha Female was trained by Joe E. Legend and Murat Bosporus. Gabert is an incredible powerhouse and has competed in STARDOM, TNA, EVE, and the May Young Classic Tournament. The impression she made during the May Young Classic Tournament is unforgettable to fans. The WWE Universe knew that this woman is the strongest women to ever step into a WWE ring and in sports entertainment.
Kay Lee Ray is known for her time in ICW. The Scottish professional wrestler born on August 11, 1992, resides in Glasgow, Scotland. Kay Lee is a 3-time ICW Women’s Champion. The ICW champion was trained by Kid Fite and made her debut in pro-wrestling on May 30, 2009. Ray ranked number 28 on the top 50 female wrestlers in 2016. She has held championships at ICW, Southside Wrestling Entertainment, and Defiant. Ray is no stranger to NXT. She made a WWE debut on October 8, 2015, at an NXT taping where she lost to Nia Jax. Kay Lee Ray would be one of the 32 competitors for the first Mae Young Classic Tournament.
Ilja Rukober is known as one of the biggest indie stars. He is incredibly impressive in the ring. Rukober, also known as Ilja Dragunov, is known for ring time at wXw and Progress. Trained by Alexander Wolfe, the wrestler born in Moscow, Russia made his debut in pro-wrestling on April 21, 2012. The Russian wrestler migrated to Germany at the young age of 5. The wrestler has been known as ‘invincible’ and his life revolves around the word Unbesiegbar. When he steps into the squared circle it does not matter the challenge or the agony, he goes through he is “unbesiegbar”, meaning invincible.
Oliver Sauter, also known as Oliver Carter, has competed at PROGRESS World Cup and known for his time at RevPro. He also has won the SWE Title Tournament on May 31, 2014. At one time he was known as Mr. Exotic Erotic. Voted Rookie of the Year 2009 at SCW and a GSW Tag Team Champion. He was trained by Marshall T. and made his wrestling debut on May 12, 2012. He earned the nickname “The Predator Slayer”. He shows incredible athleticism in the ring with his technically accurate moves such as 450 Splash and Springboard Cutter.
Jay Melrose, also known as Primate or Jason Prime, made his debut in pro-wrestling on September 2014. The Newcastle, England born wrestler is known for work in Defiant Wrestling. He has also competed at CZW, PROGRESS, and Chikara. His ring awareness is of a solid technical wrestler. When he is in the squared circle he dominates with his style and presence. Melrose ring performance is equivalent to a veteran that has performed in the ring for decades. Jay Melrose is known for his spear. He has overcome the fear of never being able to compete in the ring due to a jaw injury. Melrose did this by hard work and dedication to training. He continued his dreams and goals by putting money towards Battle Ready New Castle: Performance and Training Center. The centre is dedicated to assisting athletes with development and focuses on professional wrestling.
