WWE broke the news earlier today that The Hart Foundation will be the next Superstars to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019. The Hart Foundation will join Torrie Wilson, The Honky Tonk Man, Harlem Heat, and D-Generation X in the 2019 Hall of Fame Induction on WrestleMania Eve.
The Hart Foundation is one of the most captivating forces in pro-wrestling. Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and Bret “Hitman” Hart have incredible chemistry in the ring, they are in fact family. This connection made them very harmonious with each other when it came to their performances. They were steered to WWE tag team glory in 1985, with the help of Jimmy Hart. Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart was a huge asset to the success of The Hart Foundation. Neidhart was a raw gritty powerhouse that made the tag team division a force to be dreaded with. Hart was the technician the would complement Neidhart perfectly.
In 1987 they worked their way up to the World Tag Team Title. At the time the World Tag Team Titles were held by Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid. While dirty talk ticks by manager Jimmy Hart and twisted Danny Davis, The Hart Foundation would capture their first tag team win.
The Hart Foundation began to have issues with Jimmy Hart. Hart would turn his back and attempt to break them down as a tag team. He would make irrational senseless attempts to get back at them. In 1990, the Anvil & Hit Man would dominate their match with The Bolsheviks, defeating them in a matter of seconds at the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania VI.
At SummerSlam 1990, The Hart Foundation would overthrow Demolition. The outcome of the match would be determined in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match. Finally, after an exhausting long match between the two teams, Bret “The Hitman” Hart and his brother-in-law Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart claimed their victory. This would be their second World Tag Team Championship.
Sadly, The Hart Foundation would split up in the summer of 1991. The legacy that was created in left by them will never be forgotten in the eyes of all wrestling fans. The Hart Foundation influential, remains unsurpassed, with remarkable technical in-ring performers, but most of all the best there is and the best there was. And the best tag team there will ever be. Neidhart sadly passed away last year, but his legacy remains in his daughter Natalya, one of the greatest female wrestlers in the world today.
The Hart Foundation will find their place into the WWE Hall of Fame, on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. On that very special night, Bret Hart, like Shawn Michaels and Booker T will join Ric Flair in the very special group of 2-time WWE Hall of Fame, recognized both as wrestlers and as team/stable members.
