WWE broke the news earlier today that Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake will be the next Icon to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake will join The Hart Foundation, Torrie Wilson, The Honky Tonk Man, Harlem Heat, and D-Generation X in the 2019 Hall of Fame Induction on WrestleMania Eve.

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, the icon that strut and cut the hair of his opponent after each win, made his in-ring debut in 1977, along the side of Terry Bollea, best known as Hulk Hogan. The two of them were billed together as brothers. Brutus joined WWE, known as WWF at the time, in late 1984, he was managed by the Luscious Johnny Valiant.

He would then find his tag team success with WWE Hall of Famer Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. The team would be recognized as The Dream Team. The Dream Team would defeat The British Bulldogs in August 1985 and become the new World Tag Team Champions. However, at WrestleMania II in Rosemont, Illinois, the Dream Team would lose their titles to The British Bulldogs. The Dream Team decided to part their ways at WrestleMania 3.

Brutus became Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, after a match stipulation. The match stipulation would be that Adonis would have to shave his head if he lost to Roddy Piper. Brutus would assist Piper to win in his match with Adonis. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake would be the man to take the task of removing Adonis’s hair. This action would give him the nickname “The Barber”.

Brutus would get a little training in the art of hair cutting. He would favour his large hedge clippers among other traditional hair styling tools. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake would show off his exceptional barber skills to his rivals as his in-ring rivals would remorse their haircut after crossing paths with The Barber.

His in-ring career would be cut short due to a parasailing accident in 1990. Brutus would have to undergo reconstructive surgery. The surgery would consist of titanium plates, screws, and steel wire to construct his face back together. He would make his comeback in 1991. The Barber Shop would be opened after his return, this show would allow him to interview and trim some of the Superstars on the roaster.

Beefcake wanted and yearned for that in-ring return. Against everything and all odds, he returned to the ring in 1993. Because of the surgery he had on his face, he would wear protective facial gear and back up with Hogan.

The two would face The Million Dollar Man and the IRS. The Barber and Hulk Hogan would defeat the duo known as Money Inc. at WrestleMania IX.

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is a fan favourite, a legend, an icon, but most of all, an in-ring symbol.

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake will find his place into the WWE Hall of Fame, on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. On that very special night.
