We’re only days away from Money In The Bank where if you win, it’s your signal that the company has faith you’ll be taking the wrestling world by storm…unless you’re Baron Corbin. Nevertheless, it’s an exciting time if you’re a fan of people slowly climbing ladders. Let’s not waste any more time and see what went down as we check out SmackDown Live.
We kicked off with Roman Reigns and The Miz opened the show with a promo. They’re quickly interrupted by Shane McMahon and Elias, then were attacked by McMahon, Elias, Daniel Bryan, and Rowan. The Usos made the save. Miz is barred from the building, a tag team match is made for later in the show, and if Miz interferes, the steel cage match at Money in the Bank is off.
Big SmackDown Live things happening this week:
- Andrade defeated Finn Bálor, Randy Orton, and Ali. Andrade wins and tries to pull down the Money in the Bank briefcase after the match, but is stopped by “WILD CARD BITCHES” Ricochet.
- Daniel Bryan, Rowan, Shane McMahon, and Elias defeated Roman Reigns and The Usos. McMahon picked up the win for his team with a coast-to-coast dropkick. This Miz didn’t interfere during the match…. but showed up after the match. Yay Loopholes!
- Kairi Sane and Asuka are now the Kabuki Warriors. Let that sink in for a bit. Even hours later it still feels dumb.
MAIN EVENT THINGS
The main event segment was a classic KO Show with Kofi Kingston. Owens interviewed Kingston from backstage, then showed up on the ramp for a brawl. The ever-loyal Sami Zayn helped Owens, and Xavier Woods ran out to even the odds. Overall it was another decent-ish episode of SmackDown Live, can we keep the momentum running till MITB? Let’s wait and see!
