We’re 3 days away from NXT TakeOver XXV. And the moment we will know who are the new NXT Tag Team Champions. Undisputed Era will do absolutely everything to grab the NXT belts, Adam Cole like Fish and O’Reilly. Meanwhile, Roderick Strong will square off with Matt Riddle the same night. NXT TakeOver PPVs have this amazing quality to be as great as they are unpredictable. Tonight is Nygma time and I want to hear the Roar from the Full Sail crowd…
Big NXT things happening this week:
- Mia Yim defeated Bianca Belair
- NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream did a selfie stick promo and said, “Tyler Breeze, I remember you.” Dream said when Breeze got called up, Dream saw fear in his eyes, and it was the last time he got a standing ovation. Breeze may have forgotten what it was like to have the spotlight on him, but that’s all Dream has been in as of late. Breeze replied he was a staple in NXT and will push Dream out of that spotlight.
- NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was asked about last week’s attack and if she’s concerned about Shirai. Baszler said at TakeOver XXV, Shirai isn’t allowed to have any weapons, and is all out of friends, unlike her.
- KUSHIDA defeated Drew Gulak.
- Backstage, Io Shirai told Cathy she’s not afraid of Baszler or her friends, so she can bring them. Candice LeRae then thanked Shirai for last week and she’s got Shirai’s back at TakeOver XXV.
- Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs. The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake) ended in a no-contest when The Street Profits attacked Jaxson Ryker. A big brawl followed, with chairs involved. Undisputed Era arrived, brawled with the 3 teams, pulled a ladder out from under the ring and uses it on Ryker. They set the ladder up and Cole went to the top of it. He says to Johnny Gargano at TakeOver XXV that (he pointed to Ryker) is undisputed.
MAIN EVENT THINGS
Cool episode… TakeOver XXV PPV is just around the corner and this episode made everything to make us want to watch it. KUSHIDA rolled with another victory, even if Gulak showed resistance. The feud continues between Yim and Belair. Action and good promos, the perfect recipe for a good episode… Next week on NXT, we’ll know who became or remained Champion, so who will grace the NXT ring with the coveted gold around their waist?
