Impact Wrestling is invading Texas next week with a series of events on the road to one of its most iconic PPVs, Slammiversary. From July 4 to 7, Impact Wrestling is teaming up with FC Dallas for a series of promotions and events leading up to Slammiversary XVII, which will be held Sunday, July 7, at Gilley’s Dallas.
IMPACT World Champion Brian Cage will attend the team’s home match on Thursday, July 4, at Toyota Stadium in suburban Frisco, Texas, just outside of Dallas. Cage will cheer on the host club in its match that night against D.C. United, which is expected to draw about 20,000 fans for the holiday night match.
Cage will be interviewed at the game by Gina Miller, who is the VP of Media & Communications for FC Dallas and has hosted/produced FC Dallas Live, a pre-game show that airs on TXA21. Miller is an award-winning sportscaster who has worked in numerous markets, including Dallas and Los Angeles.
“We’re thrilled Brian will be at the July 4th game and is bringing the World Championship belt with him,” said Miller. “It will be great to see the title up-close and in-person.”
Cage also will be participating in a special halftime promotion, where he will attempt to score a penalty kick – against the team’s mascot, a bull named Tex Hooper. “I’m looking forward to going to the FC Dallas game on July 4th, cheering the team to victory and spending time with the strong fanbase, many of whom will be at Slammiversary on Sunday to root me on,” said Cage. Cage also will participate in other in-stadium promotions with the team and meet with the players and coaches. In addition, he will meet with some of the soccer club’s youth teams.
The July IMPACT Plus Special will truly be unique. For the first time ever, IMPACT Wrestling will take place in a Brewery! Bash at the Brewery will actually take place in The Freetail Brewery in San Antonio, TX, a working brewery. The show will air live on Impact Plus on Friday, July 5th (8 PM CST/2 AM BST the next day).
Some matches were announced today on Impact Wrestling Twitter. World Champion Brian Cage will face Moose. Michael Elgin will square off with Eddie Edwards. LAX will put their Impact World Tag Team titles on the line against The North. Two days before Slammiversary‘s Monsters’ Ball, Rosemary will meet her old friend Su Yung in the Brewery ring.
As announced a few weeks ago, on Saturday, July 6th, Impact Wrestling partners with Reality of Wrestling (ROW) to present Deep IMPACT from the Booker T World Gym Arena just outside of Houston, TX. Deep IMPACT will broadcast Live on Impact Wrestling official Twitch Channel at 7 PM CST (1 AM BST the next day).
Superstars like World Heavyweight Champion Brian Cage, Sami Callihan, X-Division Champion Rich Swann, Tessa Blanchard and Jordynne Grace will face ROW talents, including ROW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Davidson, Tag Team Championship Warren Johnson & Zack Manson, Television Champion Ayden Cristiano, Texas Champion Moonshine Mantell, and Diamonds Division Championship AQA.
From Gilley’s in Dallas, TX, Impact Wrestling presents Slammiversary XVII live on Pay-Per-View on what promises to be one of the biggest nights of the year. Slammiversary will be one night filled with surprises and more. Dallas, TX, will never be the same after this incredible night of action, drama and more.
The World Title will be defended when Brian Cage faces Michael Elgin in a battle that has been building since Rebellion in Toronto. Johnny Impact will challenge Rich Swann for the X-Division Championship. At United We Stand, Johnny IMPACT won the Ultimate X match and now gets to challenge for a Championship that he has never won in his career.
Moose is out to take down anyone who ever competed in ECW and that job will be complete when Moose faces Rob Van Dam in Dallas. The Rascalz have their chance to become Tag Team Champions when they face LAX for the World Tag Team Titles. The Knockouts Title will be on the line in a Four-Way Monster’s Ball Match, in which Champion Taya Valkyrie will face Havok, Rosemary and Su Yung.
