AEW have revealed through their site and the first episode of Road to All Out that Shawn Spears has brought on former Horseman, Tully Blanchard, as his exclusive advisor. This news comes ahead of his upcoming encounter with Cody that will take place at All Out on the 31st of August, a match that came about when Spears attacked Cody with a chair at Fyter Fest.

As part of the announcement, AEW wrote that Blanchard has signed a multi-show agreement with both the company and Spears himself. Blanchard, a second-generation star who is widely considered one of the most notorious and treacherous wrestlers of all time, was a member of the world-renowned Four Horsemen, the NWA World Television Champion and holder of multiple tag team titles. He is a WWE Hall of Famer and father to Tessa Blanchard, Impact Wrestling and indie wrestling Superstar.
AEW President Tony Khan describes Blanchard and the pairing in a statement here, “Tully Blanchard is a legendary retired wrestler and a canny tactician known worldwide for his and penchant for chicanery.” He added, “Given the challenge that Shawn has issued to Cody for a match at ALL OUT as well as the long, bitter history between Tully and the Rhodes family, plus Shawn’s recent behaviour in AEW, it appears that Tully Blanchard has a great deal of influence over Shawn’s intents and actions. This indicates that going forward Shawn Spears will be one of the most feared and unpredictable wrestlers in AEW.”
In other AEW news, their US and Canadian streaming service B/R Live has All Out listed as $49.99 and at a start time of 8 pm ET on August 31st (1 AM BST the next day). There is currently no Fite TV listing for the event yet.
The current card has Cody vs Shawn Spears, Jon Moxley vs Kenny Omega and Hangman Page vs Chris Jericho to crown the first AEW Word Champion. These are also joined by a Ladder match between The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros and a Winners receive a first round bye in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament match between the Best Friends and The Dark Order.
