When I wrote about Ring of Honor a few weeks ago, I never thought my dream choices would become a reality. The fact is Joe Hendry really signed with Ring of Honor, as he announced on Twitter today. After being a free agent for the last few months following his departure from IMPACT Wrestling, Joe Hendry has announced that he is beginning the next chapter of his career.

The Prestigious One is one of the most charismatic independent talents out there, he’s funny, he’s a great singer, he’s creative, he’s a solid pro wrestler, he’s a successful amateur wrestler, he’s been on TV, he’s good looking, he’s faced some of the biggest names in wrestling. Hendry’s very easy to hate for all the reasons above, but also very easy to love, mostly for his reliability as a grappler which has gained him the opportunity to wrestle against the likes of Kurt Angle, Cody Rhodes and more, as well as be featured on international television shows.

Since Impact departure, Hendry has been back in the UK, wrestling for many different companies there, including ICW and the now-defunct Defiant Wrestling. He was also a part of World of Sports Wrestling revival last year. Hendry was last seen in ROH competition on the Honor United Tour, pushing the then-ROH World Television Champion Silas Young to the limit and impressing ROH matchmakers.

With impressive bouts in 2016 and 2018 in ROH rings, Hendry has established himself as one of the UK’s best in several promotions against stars like Marty Scurll, Will Ospreay, El Ligero, Doug Williams, and Pete Dunne. Joe Hendry returned to Ring of Honor competition in his hometown of Edinburgh, Scotland where he was the second entry from the United Kingdom in the inaugural Ring of Honor International Cup last year. Despite losing to Hangman Page, Hendry impressed again.
