After Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan last month, MLW has announced a working agreement with another international promotion. During this week’s MLW Fusion episode, it was announced that MLW is partnering with Mexico-based The Crash Lucha Libre. The strategic partnership will include talent exchanges and content collaboration.
The Crash is a wrestling promotion based in the city of Tijuana. It was created in 2011 and is generally considered the third-largest company in Mexico, behind AAA and CMLL. The company has counted on its shows with great talents like Rey Mysterio or Tessa Blanchard.
The current Crash Heavyweight champion is Rey Horus and the Tag Team Champions are LA Park and El Hijo de LA Park. They all currently work for MLW. The relationship makes a lot of sense given the talent shared between the promoters and it is not ruled out that they do joint shows very soon.
This is the second international partnership that MLW has announced over the past month as it was revealed that MLW is partnering with Pro Wrestling NOAH. Their relationship will also include a talent-exchange agreement and collaboration between the promotions.
The partnership with NOAH will see MLW National Openweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone head to Japan to take part in NOAH’s N-1 Victory tournament. It will begin next Sunday (August 18) and conclude on September 16. Hammerstone is part of the A Block, which also includes Naomichi Marufuji, Takashi Sugiura, Go Shiozaki, and Masa Kitamiya.
MLW has announced that it will make a more detailed statement of this new relationship in the coming days.
