Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley have all been a part of completely shifting the WWE Women’s division and the overall perception of Women’s wrestling. Over the past several years these four women have raised the bar and played a huge role in bringing women’s wrestling in the WWE to where it is today but just what has been the very best Four Horsewomen Matches and Moments?

Fatal Four-way

Four years ago, fans really did see women’s wrestling take a huge step forward at the hands of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. All four women had already been making such a huge impact on the black and gold brand but in 2015, we saw all four women come together and compete for the NXT Women’s championship in a contest that put a huge spotlight on women’s wrestling. Now, this may not have been the longest match or at least as long as many may have hoped but at the time this was a huge deal. The spots performed, the chemistry, the standard of wrestling, these four women made every second count. This was the match that highlighted these women as the four horsewomen of the WWE and the surprise ending of Banks picking up the win shifted the landscape of the NXT Women’s division.

Bayley Becomes the RAW Women’s Champion

In the mix of the women’s evolution and the work from the Four Horsewomen fans can often forget about the impact Bayley has really had and some of her standouts matches since joining the main roster. One of Bayley’s most iconic one on one encounters comes from her RAW Women’s championship bout against Charlotte Flair on the February 13th edition of Monday Night RAW. This was a huge night for Bayley proving just what she can do and showing to be a superstar deserving of being champion.  This is a match that does get forgotten about when discussing highlights of the women’s division and Four Horsewomen history but it was a massively important night for Bayley and most certainly goes down as one brilliant match up and in-ring highlight for Bayley.

The Birth of Becky Lynch

While many believe it was SummerSlam 2018 that saw things turn around for Becky Lynch fans must not forget her one on one encounter with Sasha Banks at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable just a few years back. Throughout her time in NXT Lynch had her standout moments but she was the only one of the for horsewomen not to hold the NXT Women’s championship and she was seen as the dark horse of the mix, however, when she went one on one with The Boss at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable the Irish star sure did make sure everyone was talking about her! This remains one of Lynch’s best matches to date and was the night she really did show fans what she was capable of and the night she won over the hearts of the NXT Universe.

RAW Tag Team Collision

Just last week fans saw the four horsewomen in action during a tag team encounter you did not want to miss out on! Highly anticipated, the four women, of course, did not disappoint and provided one of the best RAW matches of the entire year. With Banks and Bayley on one side and Flair and Lynch the other it was sure to be interesting to see how things would play out considering the history. What fans got to witness was an amazing wrestling match full of back story, excellent chemistry and fantastic wrestling. Thankfully, WWE provided the women with a good amount of time to actually compete and there really wasn’t a dull moment. The announcement of this match had fans excited straight away and of course, they all made the most of the time they had showing everyone just how great women’s wrestling is and the standard female competitors should be competing at. This was an excellent updated bout between the four women who changed the game.

Hell in a Cell

In 2016, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair made history yet again when they became the first women to not only compete inside Hell in a Cell but also to main event a WWE PPV. While the match ended in controversy with a lot of fans wanting to see Banks walk out the victor the match itself provided everything you could ask for in a title bout. There was so much story, absolutely epic spots and a level of wrestling that ten years ago you never could have predicted to have seen from the women’s division. Banks and Flair have been apart of so many great matches that a list of simply their highlights could so easily be made, however, its this iconic and historical moment that deserves to be recognised today for its ground-breaking action and simple highlight that these two women are two of the very best.

Stealing the Show at WrestleMania

WrestleMania 32 was a huge night for women’s wrestling in the WWE. This was the first time we really saw women’s wrestling showcased properly and given the respect and spotlight it deserved on the Wrestlemania stage. Not only did Banks, Flair and Lynch provide one heck of a title match ushering in a new era of women’s wrestling they took part in the standout match of the night. Many fans named this the WrestleMania match of the year and were a huge statement of a contest! Yet another massively historic evening for Women’s wrestling taken at the hands of the Four Horsewomen.

Evolution

With Becky Lynch becoming the biggest star in the WWE and Charlotte Flair well established as one of the all-time greats in women’s wrestling it was fitting to see the pair compete for SmackDown Women’s Championship in one heck of a contest at the first-ever All Women’s PPV, Evolution. Undoubtedly the match of the night, Lynch and Flair took part in an all-out bout that had fans completely hooked from the get-go. From going through announce tables, kendo sticks being used left right and centre, and chair shots as well as excellent wrestling Flair and Lynch left the spotlight heavy on themselves and provided a matchup that wasn’t only a standout of the evening but of the year. This was a vital match in the journey of Becky Lynch and what she has been on over the past year and was most certainly highlighted as a career standout for both women.

Taking Over Brooklyn

Arguably one of if not the best women’s division match the WWE has ever seen comes at the hands of the NXT Women’s championship bout between Bayley and Sasha Banks at the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event in two thousand and fifteen. Prior to this, we had seen both women take part in several standout matches that re-shaped women’s wrestling, however; this encounter raised the bar to levels no one could have predicted. The chemistry between the women, the classic story of heel vs underdog, the fan reaction and the sheer wrestling excellence meant this match was a standout of the year and NXT all-time great. In what was a stacked card Banks and Bayley completely stole the show and showcased exactly what women’s wrestling means with the division never truly being the same after this contest.

There have been so many epic moments from the Four Horsewomen. Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have shaped the Women’s division today and together they have had so many fantastic moments and matches and we have only touched on a few today in what is truly an endless list; but what can we expect from these women in the future?
