On The Road to Hell in a Cell, Harper and Rowan have decided to decimate, destroy, annihilate… It’s chaos on the Blue Brand and the victims are called Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. Kevin Owens decided to reply to Shane McMahon with the threat of a juicy lawsuit. And Charlotte Flair found a new ally in Carmella.
As this season of SmackDown Live is coming to an end, some questions should find an answer tonight when Roman Reigns will clean the air with Roman Reigns, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will discuss his unexpected challenger, The Beast Incarnated Brock Lesnar, Shane Mc Mahon and Kevin Owens will try to settle the lawsuit. Charlotte Flair will team up with Carmella against Bayley and Sasha Banks. With so much to talk about, let’s not waste any more time and see what went down as we check out SmackDown Live. Tonight is Tuesday Night Nygma…

Big SMACKDOWN LIVE things happening this week:

  • Erick Rowan talked about “might being right” and how Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan know he’s right, as does the SmackDown locker room, which is why they’re afraid. Daniel Bryan walked down the ramp and said if Rowan wants respect, fight him right now for it.
  • Erick Rowan defeated Daniel Bryan. After the match, Harper hit the ring and manhandled Bryan. Roman Reigns came made the save and Bryan joined him to stop Harper and Rowan. Reigns checked on Bryan but Bryan didn’t want the help. He got to his feet limping, grabbed the mic and said all he wants is a one-word answer, do the fans want to see he and Reigns kick these disrespectful asses? Fans didn’t say no. Rowan and Harper watched from the ramp as Bryan and Reigns stood in the ring together.

  • Video package on Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion Kofi Kingston on the October 4 SmackDown on FOX premiere. Michael Cole interviewed Kofi and asked him about Lesnar’s challenge and why he accepted. Kofi talked about how he’s promised to be a fighting champion, and this is another chapter of that. Kofi said he feels like he is at the top of his own game, he’s defeated some of the best in WWE and he feels good about the match with Lesnar. Kofi admitted he always feels the pressure and he knows the SmackDown on FOX premiere is a big deal. Kofi added he’s not ready to give up the title yet, and he will walk out of the FOX premiere as the WWE Champion.

  • Chad Gable defeated Mike Kanellis in what was not a short win, but a strong one. Elias appeared on the big screen and called Gable “shorty”. He said he’s been following Gable’s story, which inspired him to write a new song. It was a short one…
  • 24/7 Champion Carmella was congratulated by Charlotte Flair on the title win. Flair hoped she was focused on tonight’s match. Carmella said she and Bayley have been friends for years, and this isn’t the Bayley she knows. Flair disagreed.

  • Sasha Banks & SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair & Carmella w/ R-Truth. After the match, a group of female Superstars rushed the ring but Truth helped Carmella escaped with the WWE 24/7 Title. Banks and Bayley cornered Flair but she stroke first. RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch rushed to the ring, avoided a double team attack and unloaded on Banks and Bayley, going back and forth on each. She applied the Disarm Her on Banks but Bayley pulled her partner to safety. The Man stood tall in the ring and taunted Banks and Bayley.
  • The Minister of Silly Walks Sami Zayn introduced Shinsuke Nakamura, well if squealing like a stuck pig (here, we say like a polecat) is meant to be an introduction. The Intercontinental Champion defeated Ali, thanks to Zayn.

  • Video package on Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens.
  • The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) defeated The B-Team (Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel).
  • The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) defeated Fire & Desire (Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville).

  • Shane McMahon and his army of lawyers confronted Kevin Owens. Whether they go on court for years, or Owens drops the lawsuit, reinstates him and drops the fine. Shane offered his hand, Owens called him an idiot. Owens said he doesn’t want to go in court, he wants to free the locker room of Shane. Owens offered Shane one final match. If Shane wins, he will go. If Owens wins, Shane will be fired. Owens asked Shane’s lawyer to draw the documents up, put them in a briefcase, and let’s have a ladder match.
  • Sasha Banks ambushed Becky Lynch as she was interviewed backstage. The Man seemed hurt.

MAIN EVENT THINGS

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns ready to team up is something as unexpected as interesting. For the moment, the match against Rowan and Harper is set for Hell in a Cell but it could end up right into the cell. It should be a must-see… No idea on where the Zayn-Nakamura association will bring us, we can suspect an epidemy of busted eardrums before we all have a clue…

In my country, we say the best jokes are the shorter ones. You, in the UK, say brevity is the soul of wit. Chad Gable vs Elias should have happened as a King of The Ring quarterfinals, let’s expect this feud to be… short… And for Gable not to come up… short… (I’m giggling like Muttley on my seat…)

Overall, that was a messy episode, not short on action (go to bed, Nygma) but custom-made to close the USA chapter and allow to write a new one on FOX next week. It was the Episode 1049 of SmackDown Live, the last one on Tuesday Night.

Next week, the show will air live on FOX and on Friday night. It will be SmackDown Live’s 20th-anniversary celebration, with a World Championship match, a Ladder “You’re Fired” match, a Wrestling Four-Horsewomen Tag Team match and appearances by several WWE Hall of Famers, including Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Booker T, Lita, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Bill Goldberg, Trish Stratus, Mark Henry, and Jerry Lawler, among others.

Nygma Note: I am short on jokes now (count this woman out…).
