Since Impact Wrestling is back in Mexico, we can say we have been spoiled with good action. Lucha Libre seems to inspire the Impact roster and give a breath of fresh air to what happens in the ring. If these episodes were as enjoyable for the wrestlers to tap than for us to watch, then I call that a win-win situation. The Mexican spicy sauce is doing its job perfectly.
On the menu this week, from Mexico City, Mexico, Rosemary will face off Susie. TJP will take on El Hijo Del Vikingo. The Crist brothers will compete against Daga and Dr Wagner Jr. Also, Tessa Blanchard will respond to Ace Austin’s challenge. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…
The Nygma’s Chart of the Week
- World Champion Tessa Blanchard opened the show. She said she’s heard what Austin has said, he plays mind games and she’s hard to kill, but not hard to find. She called him out and Austin arrived with Reno Scum. They will face off on February 22 at Sacrifice iPPV.
- Tessa Blanchard defeated Adam Thornstowe w/ Luster The Legend. Post-match, they attacked Tessa until Tommy Dreamer made the save.
- Taya asked Madison Rayne and Kiera Hogan for help, they refused.
- Rhino defeated Taurus via DQ when Moose interfered.
- Elgin talked to himself about Edwards and their best of five series. He wants the world title and promised to go up 2-0 next week.
- Johnny Swinger met with The Desi Hit Squad, talking about his “team” with Willie Mack. He set up Mack vs. Shera.
- Taya tried to make a deal with Rosemary and tries to make a deal for some help next week as she will face Jordynne Grace. Father James Mitchell arrived, Rosemary locked him in a room and left. Later, Rosemary attacked Havok as she tried to free Mitchell, choking her out.
- Rosemary vs. Susie ended in a no contest as they brawled in the same stairs Havok choked Su. Rosemary did the same and woke up Su. Father James Mitchell found Rosemary and Havok laid out backstage. Rosemary laughed as Mitchell said they are all doomed.
- TJP w/ Fallah Bahh defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo. The North attacked Vikingo post-match until TJP & Bahh made the save.
- Katie Forbes distracted Joey Ryan backstage so that RVD could attack him.
- Daga & Dr. Wagner Jr defeated Jake & Dave Crist. Madman Fulton attacked Daga and Wagner after the match.
- Johnny Swinger told Mack he has heat with Shera and that they have a match next week.
- Ace Austin defeated Tommy Dreamer in a Falls Count Anywhere Street Fight.
The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week
– TJP vs El Hijo Del Vikingo
Fallah Bahh was at ringside. They locked up, working into counters and TJP followed with shoulder tackles, a head scissors and grounded the action. Vikingo countered out and worked into TJP’s guard. They worked into an upside-down, traded slaps and ten work into a standoff. TJP followed with uppercuts, but Vikingo hit the springboard spear. He dumped TJP and slammed TJP to the floor. The Shooting Star Press from the apron followed, and back in, Vikingo was cut off with the Dodon. TJP followed with the senton Atomico. He then grounded him with the butterfly lock, Vikingo escaped and transitions into a bow and arrow, carried him around but TJP countered and snapped back on the arm.
The Russian leg sweep followed. Vikingo pulled an armbar, but TJP countered into a Muta lock. Vikingo fought and made the ropes. TJP followed with chops, Vikingo fired back and delivered kicks. He dropkicked TJP to the floor and followed with an over-the-post tope. Back in, Vikingo delivered strikes, kicks and the draping leg drop. TJP fired back and countered into the tombstone. TJP up top, the frog splash followed. TJP headed back up top, Vikingo cut him off and hit the double knees. They worked up top, superplex by TJP transitioned into the Octopus hold. Vikingo made his way to the ropes. They traded strikes, kicks and Vikingo connected with the spin kick, but TJP countered into the Regal stretch for the win.
– Daga & Dr Wagner Jr vs Jake & Dave Crist
Fulton and Galenos del Mal were at ringside. Dave and Wagner began, locking up as Wagner worked the arm. He took Dave down, kicked him in the head and followed with rights. Dave fired back and ran into a powerslam. Jake tagged in, Wagner delivered strikes and chops, Jake cut him off until Wagner hit another clothesline and followed with a cutter. Daga tagged in, they worked into counters and Jake followed with the Death Valley Driver, Daga popped up and he hit a DVD too. On the floor, Daga was cut off by Dave. Dave tagged in, followed with strikes, Daga countered back and delivered kicks. Wagner and Jake ran wild. Dragon screws for both Jake & Dave, he followed with a German suplex, and Daga joined in for double teams and the brainbuster. Jake followed with a flurry of kicks, double teams followed on Daga and the double stomp tombstone connected. Wagner took out Jake, hit the cannonball to the floor and the Jay driller got the win for Daga.
The not-Nygma’s Moment(s) of the Week
Nothing special to say…
The Lollipop and Baby-Oil Nygmalicious Moment of The Week
RVD attacked Joey backstage… I tend to think he really doesn’t want Katie Forbes to touch IT…
The Nygma’s Awards of the Week
– Su Yung
When you suffer from amnesia, doctors say you have to make live the situation that brought a person into amnesia again. Rosemary choked Su again, and she made her come back. Now, will our favourite Demon be able to make a friend of the new Su in order to help her fight Father James Mitchell and Havok? That’s another story I will tell you about the next few weeks…
– Tommy Dreamer
He has been in the business for something like 30 years and Tommy Dreamer is still as enjoyable to watch, in or out of the ring. At Brian Cage’s wedding or at the Wrestler’s Court, he is funny and playing the game perfectly. In the ring, Dreamer brings the hardcore soul he has helped building. Well, we’ll never have enough of Tommy Dreamer…
– TJP
Wherever the wind can bring him, TJP is there. Japan, Mexico, USA, the world is not enough for TJP. But every time he enters the Impact Zone, the guy is impressive. His matches are impressive. Against El Hijo Del Vikingo this week, he just tore the house down. This guy is very special and the X-Division belt could perfectly fit his waist.
To be eNYGMAtic…
Once again, I liked this episode, really. The magic recipe of a good show was in full force, action and promos and cinematic orchestra. Su Yung is finally back and, if eyes could kill, Havok would already be six feet under. Storylines are going in the right direction. The magic between AAA and Impact wrestlers is working perfectly. What else could I add? Yes, maybe one thing, where is Sami Callihan?
Some noticed my reviews have been shorter since the beginning of the year. It’s not a matter of Champion, of wrestlers, or Impact Wrestling’s Creative direction, as some people said. No, because I would tell you if I was not okay with something. I have been dealing with health issues for nearly a year now. Every review, every interview (don’t miss Taya’s tomorrow…) has become a fight against myself. And I hold on as long as I can…
On this “Nygma Doesn’t Quit” note, until next week, never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
