Impact Wrestling announced today longtime ring announcer Dave Penzer will take part in the special TNA-themed show on April 3. Penzer was TNA ring announcer from 2005 to 2010. He came back in April 2017, he was the ring announcer for much of 2017 up until Bound for Glory in November.

As noted before, the show is quoted as “There’s No Place Like Home” which is a reference to TNA being based in the Orlando, FL area years ago. The Impact TNA event will take place on Friday, April 3 in Ybor City, Florida at The Ritz. It will air live on Fite TV at 7 pm ET. Tickets for “TNA: There’s No Place Like Home” are on sale now at Wrestlecon.com.

During the All Japan show at Korakuen Hall, the promotion announced the participants for the annual Champion Carnival tournament. The tournament will begin on Monday, April 6th at Korakuen Hall and runs for a month with the final night on May 5th at Korakuen Hall.

Here are the entrants: Kento Miyahara, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Jake Lee, Suwama, Yuma Aoyagi, Shuji Ishikawa, Takashi Sugiura, Ayato Yoshida, Hideyoshi Kamitani, Zeus, Naoya Nomura, Yoshitatsu, KAI, Ryoji Sai, Joel Redman, Gianni Valletta, Lucas Steel, and Shigehiro Irie.

The tournament dates to 1973 and was won by Kento Miyahara last year. The only other participants this year with previous victories are Suwama in 2008 and Shuji Ishikawa in 2017. Davey Boy Smith Jr. made clear on social media he wants to win a trophy his father Davey Boy Smith, his father’s cousin Dynamite Kid and his father’s “storyline brother” Johnny Smith once competed for.

After Mexico and Japan, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), the New Jersey-based deathmatch and MMA promotion, has announced the next part of their global expansion, the United Kingdom. They’re heading to Liverpool, England at the end of August and teaming up with TNT Extreme Wrestling, another hardcore promotion, for a series of shows, including GCW vs TNT as well as their own proper GCW event.

The epic three-day event will take place this summer, from August 27 to 29, at Hangar 34 in Liverpool. TNT will run its yearly Summer Explosion event at Hangar 34, in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, on Thursday, August 27. The following evening, GCW will host a show at the same venue featuring its roster of independent stars on Friday, August 28. The two promotions will then collide in a TNT vs GCW clash on Saturday, August 29, promising never before seen match-ups.
