Which barriers to break? Pick 2 female wrestlers, make one of them the World Champion and the second the challenger, and let the magic happen. The World Championship is usually held, retained, defended, wrestled by men. Another barrier will bite the dust tonight…
On the menu this week, from Las Vegas, Nevada, Tessa Blanchard is putting the World Championship on the line against Taya Valkyrie. Also, TJP and Fallah Bahh will compete against Impact World Tag Team Champions The North. Joey Ryan will face off Acey Romero. Moose and Petey Williams will fight. Su Yung and Havok will finally square off in a no-DQ match. So no more words, let’s get ready for some action, but your French Enygma Steph way, of course…

The Nygma’s Chart of the Week

  • TJP & Fallah Bahh defeated Impact World Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page).
  • Tessa Blanchard told Gabby Loren she is ready to face Taya Valkyrie for the Impact World Championship tonight. She said that tonight is special. She was ready to retain. Eddie Edwards interrupted the interview and said he respects Blanchard, but he wants a shot at the title if she retains tonight.
  • Moose defeated Petey Williams.

  • Madison Rayne was running her own boot camp with the Gut Check women. Kiera Hogan came in to see what is going on. Hogan said this is all ridiculous, they argued and one of the randoms stepped to her and they teased a match.
  • Acey Romero defeated Joey Ryan.
  • Johnny Swinger and Glenn Gilbertti challenged Willie Mack to a handicap match next week. Mack accepted and called them the “Swinging Disco Balls.”
  • Joey Ryan was talking to Katie Forbes and Rob Van Dam. He felt conflicted about how the fans view him. He was glad that they all feel the same way.

  • Su Yung defeated Havok in a No Disqualification match. After the match, The Undead Brides arrived with a coffin. Havok refused to get into the coffin and go to The Undead Realm.
  • Jimmy Jacobs found Rosemary and asked her about her thoughts on the match. Rosemary said that this was supposed to be all she wanted, to bring the Bunny back but that didn’t happen. She believed they need to retrace their steps and left.
  • Cody & Jake Deaner defeated Johnny Swinger & Glenn Gilbertti. ICU hijacked the show after the match.
  • A vignette was shown of Tenille Dashwood walking around Las Vegas.

  • A segment of the second episode of GutCheck challenge was shown.
  • Taya Valkyrie said she sees right through Blanchard. She didn’t believe this “sweet act” that Blanchard was trying to play. She believed that the fans have been drinking too much of the Blanchard Kool-Aid. She was ready to be the bad guy and win the title.
  • Tessa Blanchard defeated Taya Valkyrie to retain the Impact World Championship.

The Nygma’s Nutcracker(s) of the Week

– TJP & Fallah Bahh vs The North
Bahh took early control on the champions. He and TJP ran wild and picked up near falls. They worked quick tags and double teams on Josh, isolating him until the champions cut him off with double teams. That allowed them to take control. grounding the action and continuing with double teams with the handoff delayed suplex. Every time TJP fired up, the North quickly cut him off to maintain control.

TJP finally escaped, using his speed advantage and tagged in Bahh. The big man ran wild on Josh, he Bahhed up and followed with the pop-up powerbomb. TJP back in, Page took him out as the North followed with the double iconoclasm and the double crucifix. The finish saw Bahh save TJP, taking out page and allowing TJP to run wild as it broke down and cradled Josh for the win.

– Havok vs Su Yung
They brawled at the bell, Su ran wild until Havok powdered. Su hit a suicide dive and the apron cannonball also connected. Havok finally cut her off with a Samoan drop to the apron. Havok got weapons, slid chairs in the ring and then got run into the steps. Havok quickly cut off Su. Back in, they battled with chairs until Havok cut her off. This led to a striking exchange, and Su got the running knee.

Su choked out Havok with the rope until Havok countered and took her up top. Su countered the tombstone piledriver, put a trashcan on Havok and followed with the missile dropkick. Su went back to the rope, got cut off and tied to the ropes. Su misted Havok, escaped, the mandible claw and some kendo shots followed. She then choked out Havok with the knot with the mandible claw to win.

– Tessa Blanchard vs Taya Valkyrie
Bravo was at ringside. Taya trash-talked as Tessa attacked. Tessa took early control until Taya cut her off with strikes. Tessa quickly battled back, but Taya dumped her following a Bravo distraction. Post break, Taya was in control, working the heat on Tessa. Tessa battled back, posting Taya, following with a dive but Taya hit the curb stomp.

Tessa countered back with the cutter, they traded in the centre of the ring. Tessa hit a RANA and a backstabber. Taya cut her off with the spear, a knee strike. Tessa hit a powerbomb and a superkick until Taya countered into a double stomp for a near fall. They worked into counters, Bravo tried to interfere but was taken out when Taya bumped him. The buzzsaw DDT put Taya away.

The not-Nygma’s Moment(s) of the Week

Glenn Gilbertti and Johnny Swinger teaming up, do I add something? Great Balls of Fire maybe?

The Lollipop and Baby-Oil Nygmalicious Moment of The Week

What happened to Joey Ryan? He refused to do the dick flip, he is befriending with RVD and Katie. I love this category because, unlike many people, I love Joey Ryan. If he was changing what he is, what makes him different, I would have to remove the Lollipop moment of the week from this review, and it would make me very unhappy…

The Nygma’s Noticeable Facts of the Week

– The Deaners
They are back and it was good to see them back in the Impact Zone. When Impact taped these episodes last month, Cody Deaner took the time to tweet the following: “The last 3 days of IMPACT WRESTLING TV tapings in Vegas really solidified my belief that we have such an awesome roster right now. And such an amazingly hard-working crew behind the scenes. I’m genuinely blown away by what we could accomplish in 3 days of putting in the work.” Cody is a Giver…

– #RealityIsLost
He said he would attack and he did it. The game is just beginning, until March 17…

– John E. Bravo
Taya Valkyrie’s best friend has become her worst enemy… He is not making her lose when he was making her win. At this point in their story, the best way for them would be to square off once and for all. And it would not be a bad thing. John E. Bravo is a respected referee and trainer, not sure he enjoyed to go for a walk with a plush dog…

– All Knockouts Impact
If Jordynne Grace and Alisha Edwards were not on TV, they were in our hearts this week because the Knockouts were the stars of the episode. Hardcore, out-of-gender, beautiful, they were all there. At a time when Impact Wrestling are reflecting on the past with the TNA show next month, they are right to remember how important women have been for the company. They have made it, helped it, changed it, revolutionized it. They are the show and they steal it.

To be eNYGMAtic…

I really like this episode that was reflecting a diversity of styles that Impact embody perfectly. In addition, Eddie Edwards is ready for a World title shot, Rosemary is not done with Su and Rosemary, the mysterious #RealityIsLost… When you watch a show and you are suddenly looking forward to seeing the next episode, then it means a lot. And Impact has succeeded in this…
We are 6 weeks away from Rebellion PPV and it seems like we’re just out of Hard To Kill! We can feel things in the making, the intensity growing… Everything remains pretty mysterious but, for sure, it will be good. Have you read my interview with Madman Fulton? If not, check our interviews section to enjoy it. On this “Nygma Is Happy But Can’t Show It” note, until next week, never EVER forget to stay #eNYGMAtic…
