Impact Wrestling has re-signed Su Yung/Susie to a multi-year contract, as confirmed by the company earlier today. Yung has become a very important piece of the Knockouts roster since her debut. Like Impact Wrestling stated on their website, “The Undead Bride will continue to haunt the IMPACT Knockouts division long into the future.”
Yung has been with Impact since March of 2018, winning the Knockouts Championship in April of that year at Redemption. She held the title for 110 days before losing it to Tessa Blanchard. Her contract had run out back in March, but they had continued to work together until a new agreement could be reached, even if Yung was teasing on social media she was now a free agent.
The Undead Bride character has been perfectly fitting Impact Wrestling’s cinematic and hardcore vision of wrestling. She has been involved in many ground-breaking and high profile feuds, mostly the Undead Realm stories with Rosemary, Allie, Kiera Hogan, Jessicka Havok and Father James Mitchell.
She had frantic matches against Havok or Rosemary, including a hardcore match and a Demon Collar bout. At Slammiversary XVII last year, she was involved in one of the most gruelling matches of Impact repertoire, the Monsters Ball match where she competed against Taya Valkyrie, Rosemary, and Havok for the Knockouts title held by Valkyrie at that time.
She recently developed a softer version of the character after Havok choked her in some stairs and Yung resurrected. The sweet Susie was like a white, soft, and harmless little lady, but when Havok tried to choke her again, she found her way back to Su Yung, the pale Emperor of The Undead Realm.
